New Release time!!!

Well June was exciting with the Brisbane Scrapbook Expo and all the shopping, learning and social activities that comes along with one of the biggest scrappy weekends of the year! Of course along with all of that are the fabulous new Scrapmatts releases :)
Ornate frames are one of my favourites and the newest release Ornate Frames CB4066 certainly had me feeling happy!

Using Scrapmatts Chipboard Ornate Frames CB4066, Scrapwords CB6088 and CB1168, Feathers CB1222 along with Charms Fob Watch CH037 and Filigree Flowers #7 CH014

How gorgeous are the new feathers? I just want to use them on every project :)

With my title I used the word 'Times' from the pack CB6088 and cut the 's' off the end as I didn't need the plural. Also for the 'in' I used the word 'inspire' from the CB1168 pack and cut off the 'spire' to get the word I needed.

I love playing with ATC's and created these two vintage style cards:

Using Scrapmatts chipboard ATC's Rounded Corners ATC10-008 and Arch ATC10-007, Ornate Frames CB5095, Scrapwords CB1191 and CB1197, Clocks CB1107 along with Charms Filigree Flower CH073

Finally this is the layout for the class I taught at Scrapbook Expo using the new Ornate Frames. Thank you to all of the fabulous ladies (and one fantastic gentleman!) who came along and joined in the fun. I love teaching and having a group of people that are happy to get messy and creative and have a laugh along the way just makes it all the more wonderful :)

Happy creating everyone

Trinket Box Card Set

Hand made gifts are a special way of telling some one you care.
I decided to make boxed card set.
Embellished more simply which is a change for me but I like the end result

This box measures 4 1/2 x 4 x 3 1/2 inches in size and was constructed using
medium weight chip board.

I used some fairly neutral papers to create a more simple decorative style.
The scrapmatts chip board packs I used were

STAMP ATC     ATC10-006
HINGES 01    CB1124

The ATC 's were dry embossed and then inked using distress ink ( victorian velvet )
and the hinges were wet embossed with antique gold embossing powder.
This powder was a perfect match for the metal work I used.

The cards measure 4 x 3 inches and i made envelops to match.
The base card is made from Kraft card stock I love the natural rustic feel of this type of card stock.

This box can hold 10 cards, 3 are displayed here.

The scrapmatts packs used on the cards were the following

NESTED SHAPES 03    CB5017
FLOWERS 09    CB1145
ORNATE FRAMES 22    CB1220
LEAF SPRAY 01    CB1146

I used the same paper collection as mats for the cards.

I kept the inking the same on the cards to tie the cards and box together as one project.

When layouts go wrong....

Hello Scrapmatts fans, Renee here with a series of tags that started off life as a layout.

I had started to create a mixed media background for a layout but it seriously went wrong so instead of binning it (as sections of it were kinda rockin') I thought I could turn it into a series of tags. I have used quite a few packets of Scrapmatts chippies and charms but I have modified some (like snipping the frame and using it on 3 different tags and the flat charms, snapping them and using the off cuts on another tag.)

Here I have used: ATC10-025 Sewing Spool 01, CB6096 Ornate Frame 24CB1190 Scrapwords 02CH043 Assorted Charms #4.

I hope you enjoy having a look at my spontaneous tag set as much as I enjoyed making it!

Fun with Feathers and a few more Shadow Boxes

Hi Everyone, Anne here.  I have created this layout just for fun, but it features some of the new Scrapmatts Feathers.  I have also heat embossed a heart charm to make it red to go with the design.

And for some close ups of those feathers.....

And I have three different designs of Shadow Boxes to share with you.

This one I have embossed a small section of the upper and lower corners with a metal effect, then rubbed it with ink.

Some close ups.

Then for my Christmas "Dear Santa" Shadow box.

And for some close ups.

And finally, I did a fun shadow box, where I have layered silky web paper with gold tissue, to create a fun textured top to the shadow box.

And for some more Close ups.

Thanks for Looking.

Stunning by Sandi Smith

Hi Everyone...Sandi back with you again to share a couple projects using beautiful Scrapmatts Chipboard.
My niece just graduated from High School and I was lucky enough to capture some pictures of this beautiful young lady!
Stunning

I just love the brand new String circles!! I gave it a coat of gesso and a rough coat of orange paint.
I cut the CB2022 Leaf Spray in sections and tucked in my flower cluster, leaving some in their white mist finish and adding color to others.
Here are a few closeups...
