Milestones

Hi, Fi here and I'm up today with a canvas I created using some gorgeous Scrapmatts products.

I do apologise for the bad photography I am away on holidays and thought I would be able to blog from my iPad and it seems you can but it won't allow you to grab photos from it.
You really got to hand it to technology, for something that is supposed to make you life easier sometimes it is so complicated.

My second project for today, is a layout using a pic of my daughter doing some electrical work around our house, its such a great milestone for her to complete her electrical apprenticeship.

Here is a close up showing the use of embossing powder to give the frame a metallic look.

And I love these little laser cut belts, I though they were great symbol for her tool belt.

I know it is such a cliche, but where has time gone!

I must start off with an apology - I totally forgot to do my blog post for August!  I am the senior umpires convenor at our local netball association and as we come to the end of the season and into finals I was swamped with paperwork.  It is all now finished for another season so I now have time to breath!

My first two layouts today I created for Stuck Sketches August Challenges which was sponsored by Scrapmatts.  My idea was to showcase some of their great products.  I created the layouts but forgot to upload them and then the month finished - just add it to the list.

The first layout was for the August 1 Sketch.  A photo of hubby and I on a recent trip to Vietnam.  Not the most attractive.  We had just scrambled up a rock path at Marble Mountain and it was very hot and humid.

I also used happy from CB 6115 Assorted Words 28 - so new the image isn't up yet!
The Topary heart & happy have been coloured with Dew Drop inks.

My second layout was for August 15 Sketch.  Love how this one turned it.  This is view from my daughters balcony overlooking the bay at Bellerive in Hobart Tasmania.

And again Today is from CB6116 Assorted Words 29
I have also coloured the chipboard with the Due Drop Inks.

Here is another layout I did for a challenge and didn't get around to uploading!
Love how this layout turned out.  This was a day at Port Arthur in Tasmania with my girls.

Hi Scrapmatt Crafty Friends,
Amy here again with some designs using our favourite chipboard and stencils.
This month I have used the CB5035
And ST5031
Here is Fly My Son
Materials - Scrapmatts, Colour Blast, Fancy Pants Designs, Cutfile by Loni Stevens
I've used Colourblast paste and sponged white gesso over the cop of the chipboard.

I also wanted to show you this month what I did with CB6109 Lamps. Now these I loved
Here is my 'You are the Light of My Life' layout

Here I have colour the chains and the shade of the lamps with Black Perlen Pen and left the remaining raw.
Then is was just a matter of embellishing around the layout

I hope you enjoy my layout. I really love this photo of my rugrats. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time creating for Scrapmatts and hope you have been inspired by my little crafty moments.

September creating with Lizzy.

Hello there, I hope your day is going well!

I would like to share two layouts I have created using some wonderful SCRAPMATTS products which I will list with a link to the SCRAPMATTS ONLINE STORE.

The first layout is a beachy one. I just love going to the beach and usually take lots of photos which I need to scrap. The photo I have used on my layout is of my daughter exploring the rocks and I have cut it into three for something different.  I have used some lovely SCRAPMATTS chipboard shells which I have left raw..

For some added interest I have also used the fabulous RETRO SQUARES 01 and also some GRASS to the sides of my photos. And my title came from the SCRAPWORDS 24,  I also did a little line of stencilling using the TILE STENCIL along the top of my page... and my layout..

On my second layout that I would like to share with you, I have used some beautiful chipboard and some stencils. I have used the stencils two ways, one way is to use texture paste, and the second way is to just lay your stencil down on your layout and lightly spray with mist.
You can see the two ways I have used the stencils in this close up view of my page.

I have painted my beautiful chipboard with black gesso to make them stand out. I have also used drops of purple kindy glitz to add some sparkle..  And my layout..

Exquisite Beauty.

I will list all the Scrapmatts products I have used on my layout.. I hope you can see them all!

September projects by Helen

Hello there, it’s Helen today with my September post for Scrapmatts.
It’s lovely to see the trees in bud, some warmer days and sunshine.

I created the layout using a sketch from
Stuck? sketches
with kind permission from Laura Whitaker, the designer.
I rotated the sketch 45 degrees to better suit the portrait photo.
The papers are from an older Kaisercraft collection
called “Pitter patter”
I treated the white card stock with clear gesso
so I could add lots of texture and paint.
The frame is CB5138 String circles 02.     It wasn't quite big enough
to do what I wanted, so I cut it, dampened it and stretched it out.
Worked a treat!
I used Whipped Spackle texture paste through the
and swished a bit of water colour paint over the top,
allowing it flow out onto the page.
The title words are CB4061 Assorted Words 17
The words were painted, then heat embossed.
The journalling is on the back of the layout and it reads:-
This picture was taken when you were 3 months old.  At such a young age you seemed to like the attention that comes with having your photo taken.  Your bright eyes didn’t miss a trick and you kicked away happily on your rug.  I wonder what the future holds for you, in this century, when rapid advances in technology change the way we interact with our friends and family.  I hope that you will always know how much you are loved.
In the words of Bob Dylan:-

May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
And may your song always be sung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young.
Love Granny 19th November 2011

My next project is:-
A Father’s day easel card using
Scrapmatts
CB5127 Diamond mesh 03 (the left over skeleton pieces)
 The Mesh was left untreated.
The papers are older Maja scraps.
I treated the kite with gesso and distress inks.
I like the way the ink clumped into little beads.
The key was altered with gesso & rusting paste to create an aged look.
The words were ready to go -  no treatment needed.
I hope you've enjoyed your look around today.
Feel free to leave a comment and why not upload your projects
to the GALLERY
We'd love to see how you use the beautiful Scrapmatts products.
Until next time - Happy Scrapping.
