January Challenges

Hi everyone

Sorry I missed my December post, I was struggling for brain space in the lead up to Christmas and totally forgot 😢.  Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year and got to spend time with family and friends.

One good thing about this time of year, is that I managed to do a couple of Scrappy Challenges.  My first one is from Kraft+ and the second is from Archiscraps.  There are still a few days left to complete the January challenges.

We recently had a trip through country Victoria and I took quite a few photos through the car windscreen as hubby was driving.  Love the different scenery.

Little Christmas Angels

Welcome to the New Year my lovelies, I hope that it brings you all everything you could hope for, good health, love and happiness.

As the title of this post suggests I have two layouts of two absolutely adorable little girls. One is my gorgeous little neighbour Alaina and the other is the neice of a beautiful lady who is kind of related by marriage to me.

I have used some of the incredible Christmas chipboard that Scrapmatts have with some beautiful gold ink to help further enhance the designs.

First up is Alaina, dressed in such a cute little dress, ready for her Santa photos.

Next is the sweet Elowyn, the look of wonder on her face is truly delightful to see. I used the same stars, snowflakes and craft gems as on Alaina's page but added a few extras.

Well that is me for this month, I already have one page done for my next post and another in the making.
I still have so much beautiful Christmas chipboard to play with so watch out for Christmas in July when I will be breaking it all out again.

Until next time
Hugs and love

Let the Summer fun begin 🌞

And just like that Christmas is done and dusted
and the summer shenanigans begin!
Summer holidays for us mean many days spent at the beach and I have been hoarding beautiful beachy papers and embellishments for months in preparation for this season, so let's jump straight in with this first layout.

For my title I simply strung together some of these gorgeous word chipboards and inked them with the same teal I used on the background stencilling.

I also added in a few of these delicate twigs and grasses - which looked fabulous in their raw state so there was no colouring needed.

For the background I used a couple of different stencils - the first was this beautiful waves pattern that I gently pushed in around sections of the background.

And then - just to add some interest, I used the fish from this versatile little stencil to pull in the cute element into my background.

After inking the bubbles I covered the dots with glue that dries clear to give it a bit of a watery look.

And of course, no layout is complete with scattering some of these gems around the page!

With my leftover papers from the layout I was also able to create a fun birthday card - one that will hopefully suite a male recipient (I find guy cards the eternal challenge).

The chipboard for this birthday card was from my favourite pack of chipboards - I love both the font and size of these chippies - they are PERFECT for cards!

To really bring that background to life I painted inside the pattern of this 'Mermaid Scales' stencil with Crystalina Kindy Glitz and after that dried, went over the outline roughly with a white pen ...
the effect is just a little bit of underwater magic!

And that is just the start of the summer beachy projects.
I look forward to sharing more with you next month.

Cheers, Kel xo

Last one for the year - Merry Christmas

Good morning all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year To finish off the year I've done 2 layouts for you using the same range The first one is called "My Queen"
I started by using the stencil ST5035 across the top of the page using texture paste with a black glitter embossing powder on top I have then layered my photos with lots of different papers at different heights to give me room to tuck in chipboard and lace
The chipboard has been treated very simply with either black in, the new lovely Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink, or silver ink. I cut some of the larger pieces in half so that I could get more out of it - a good tip if tucking under things
To finish the layout off I have added some of the ephemera pieces and tucked in some of the Scrapmatts Lace
My second layout is "Look At Me"
I started by figuring out roughly where I wanted everything to go on this page, and then I added the stencil technique that I used on my first layout across the top left corner and tucked under the piece on the right side the Lamps, CB6109 Lamps 11 I have used my Life of Colour Chrome pens to colour in to give the metalic look
The title was just inked in black then glossy accents applied over the top - the black ink must of had a red base as this is what came through as it was drying. Thankfully it was a happy accident and it matched Again I finished the page off by adding ephemera and some lace
Well, I have loved sharing my projects with you again this year. I hope you all manage to have a relaxing and safe break Heather
