February Creations with Tania

Hello there!

Tania joining you today to share some projects I created as part of my DT work for February, using lots of gorgeous Scrapmatts goodies!

First up this month I have a couple of cards.....

I created the card backgrounds by using some distressed patterned paper layers.  I added more layers using the Parisian Moments and Vintage Frame Montage Creations.  First time using them, so many gorgeous designs........

I painted up some Ornate Frames with Pearl sparkly paint.  The other chipboard pieces have been left raw.  The finished off my cards using some pretty blooms and a Happy Birthday sentiment.

A few close ups.....

My second project to share with you this month is an altered Handbag Caddy.

I painted the wood pieces in pearl paint and while they were still wet I sprinkled glitter over them,  yes crazy I know!!  I'm still finding glitter everywhere lol! But in saying that the Handbag Caddy was a gift for a friend's little girl and just to see the gorgeous happy smile on her face made it all worth it!!!
Once dry I covered the outside pieces with patterned papers.  I also painted up the Mini Heart tray, butterflies and lavender chippies in the pearl paint and covered them with glitter.  I added the Heart to the front and then embellished around it with pretty blooms.  I tucked the lavender chippies into the flower clusters and added a couple of butterflies to the handle and bottom left of the bag.  I finished off by adding the word "Dream".

Some close ups......

Well that's all from me today!  I hope I have inspired you all a little.  Don't forget to check out the store here for all your Scrapmatts goodies, and also pop back to the blog to see the gorgeous creations from the other DT girls.

Until next time, happy crafting Tania xx

September Creations with Tania

Hello there!

Tania joining you today to share a couple of projects I created for this month using lots of gorgeous Scrapmatts goodies!

First up I have a layout to share......

"Happy Little Moments"

I added some texture to the background patterned paper using the brick stencil, definitely a favourite!  Once dry I added lots of paper layers and beautiful blooms.  I then tucked in my gorgeous Wildflower chipboard pieces, which I left in the white finish.  I added a little bit of the Nuvo Crystal drops to the centre of the chipboard flowers.

Here's some close ups of the layout.......

Next up I have some cards to share.......

As my cards were slightly Shabby Chic I decided to keep the Frames in the white finish too, I thought it suited the papers well.  I finished off the cards with lots of blooms and some chipboard butterflies which I painted with Nuvo Crystal Drops.

About Me Canvas

Hi there! Hope you crafters are having a great weekend so far! I'm here today to share with you'll a canvas I made of me!

Without further ado, here is my canvas

How I put my canvas together:

1) First using the stencil by Scrapmatts, I created texture for the background.
2) Then, using distress paints, I painted over the texture at random areas.
3) Adhere photo
4) I picked out the chipboards I want to use on my canvas. Painted them using Silks and other mediums and left them to dry.
5) I then adhered them

Blue Dreamcatcher by Lauren Tomecek

I had so much fun making my last dreamcatcher that I had been thinking of making another one for a couple of months now. I finally sat down to do it this month and found that my fellow Scrapmatts DT member Crece had also created a dreamcatcher for her project this month! They must just be the in thing at the moment. Still, you can never have too much of a good thing so I continued with mine and came up with something completely different to hers.

As soon as I saw these feathers (CB5116 Feathers 01 and CB1222 Feathers 02) I knew they would be perfect for a dreamcatcher. I put some clear embossing ink on the edges and then dusted it off up the length of the feather to get that gradient effect. The little feathers have the same treatment, but were embossed with blue powder before the gold was applied over the top. The 'dream' chipboard word (from CB1200 Scrapwords 08) is just straight embossed with gold, I love the way the etched in word stays clear when you do this. The flourish is a left over piece I had from doing a Scrapmatts class at an expo (but you can get it from CB4066 Ornate Frames 23). I painted it white with acrylic paint then put some crackle medium over the top for texture and shine. The chipboard is flexible enough to bend to match the shape of the hoop while still being strong enough to not rip or break.

If you create a dreamcatcher with Scrapmatts chipboard we would love to see it over in our gallery!
