November Creating with Lizzy.

 Hello there! I hope your day is going well.. Here we are in November.. This year is getting along so quickly!

I have two layouts to share with you today and I hope they inspire you in your Scrapmatts creations.

For my first layout I have used a photo of my Son in the middle of a jam session.. He has been a Drum player since High School and he really gets involved in his playing.. I have used several different Scrapmatts chipboard pieces and a favourite stencil..

I think this title is perfect for my page and for my son.. I popped some bling on the notes of the music chipboard for some sparkle. I have used a Music Score Border chipboard that was painted navy blue. (For those who read music, this is the music to Happy Birthday, but I loved it for the way the notes sweep across the layout.. there are no rules to how we use embellishments, I go by the look of them. Having said that this chipboard would be perfect for a Birthday layout too!!)

 

I stencilled some stars onto the back ground and popped some chippy stars painted navy for some dimension..

I popped some Chevrons painted navy on the Retro Squares chipboard.. Layering chipboard looks great I think!

The second layout I would like to share is with a photo of my Daughter at the Brisbane Ekka some years ago.. She has a country heart and while she lives in the City, the country life is a part of her.. While at the Show she was able to get close to some cows while they were resting in their stalls..

And Scrapmatts had a perfect country Chippies for me to use!!

I popped a few special little words around the page.. I thought the Barbed Wire frame was great for my layout !!

 

Some Chipboard flowers colored and flower sequins popped on for sparkle..

 

How cute are the chippy Cows!!?? 

I love them!!! Simply colored with an ink pad. I added some color to this one with a gel pen.. I love the windmill too.. My dad had one on his farm when I was growing up.

Love is kind.

Using SCRAPMATTS for Challenge layouts.

Hello there,
How is your March going? Personally I wish the days would slow down a bit, the year is going way too fast!!

If you know me, you would know that I like online Scrapbooking challenges. They get you to create in ways you may not usually create.  A couple of months ago I joined in with a Challenge called White with One and as the name suggests you have to use the color white with one other color.. and for this month it was red..  So I got out some  Scrapmatts to use on my layout..
I had a photo I took of my Daughter and a horse that was staying in our paddock and began with that..
The first thing I did was some stencilling and as this had a Christmas theme, I used the star stencil from Scrapmatts.  Then it was a matter of pretty much slopping on color using water color paints..
I got out the Scrapmatts Chipboard I wanted to use and simply used white gesso and the water color paint on the chipboard pieces.
Then I layered up my embellishments around my photo and added some bling for some sparkle!!

I love these pretty stars and I cut up my chipboard to suit how I wanted to use it..

How simple yet how effective to place a little gem on the chipboard to really make some pop!

The second layout I would like to share with you is a layout I created for a different challenge, and this challenge asked that we use the word "Forever" and hearts on our page. I thought of my Parents who have been married for 63 years and I used a photo of them on their Wedding day all those years ago..

I stencilled some pretty hearts from a stencil onto the back ground...

I love this Heart Frame which I embossed in white and placed on the photo to frame my parents in love...

I also love the  words which are perfect for adding some sentiment..
