Can you see me smiling...

You should be able to see me smiling from where ever you are as I haven't stopped since I saw the amazing new releases from Scrapmatts this month :) Andrew and Sofie have outdone themselves particularly with the beautiful ranges of new chipboard frames and of course, the new charms (that one deserves a happy dance!!!)
Be ready for a bit of photo overload as I couldn't narrow down what I wanted to use - so I just made more stuff LOL!

I love making tags and using the Scrapmatts chipboard tags mean I can put a lot more stuff on them! As they are made of chipboard it means they don't bend the way the paper shipping tags do:

Angella Peardon (our DT coordinator extraordinaire) created a challenge for the DT to make a tag each month of 2014 so that we end up with a mini album made up of the tags at the end of the year. Angella's gorgeous work inspired me to create a box to hold my tags in instead of clipping the tags together:

The Screens actually come with gorgeous feet on the bottom but I accidentally damaged mine while trying to make a previous project but I kept them as I knew I could turn them into something eventually :)

Finally! My tag for January 'Enjoy Life' The idea of my tags for the year will be to make the box my 'Happy Box' - full of positive sayings

Steampunk/Grunge with Scrapmatts

I love all things steam punk and grunge. The array of applications this theme

can have when you are creating are endless.

This canvas is an example of my take on this theme that many crafters use.
The chipboard I used was a perfect fit.

The great thing about these chipboard elements is they are so detailed and the 

ability to alter them is unlimited. I have used distress ink, distress crackle paint
and embossing powders ( both standard and distress ).

 Scrapmatts chip board elements take these mediums exceptionally well and you are still able to
see all the great detail.

I used the following scrap matts sets on my canvas.

I have repeated the grunge style on a tag and softened the feel by the introduction of some floral embellishments. They coordinate well with the chipboard embellishments

I have chosen to use .

I love the fine detail shown here as many of the chip board elements have.

I used the following Scrapmatts on my tag

Leaves 04 CB1152

Grass 02 CB5100

Assorted charms #1

They also give great dimensionality to any craft project, whether you use them individually 

or use multiple types for a layered effect.

A great tip when using scrapmatts chip board is to gently flex them to 

give even  more dimension

Love is in the Air!

Woot! Love the new blog for the new year and some NEW chippies to show off as well!

Here is one of the stunning new designs hot off the laser cutter down at Scrapmatts HQ:

Here I have used the new chipboard CB5112 Hanging Hearts 01

(see below for how the chippies start off life!)

 

I have used gesso and the Tim Holtz distress paints to colour this and finished off with a few extra embellishments, ribbon and a black felt tip pen.

Next up I have a layout I completed for the January post which I missed as I was quite ill with food poisoning! but I thought I would share it with you now:

The Grass Isn't Always Greener

 Here I have used  CB2024 Picket Fences 07 which I have simply gessoed,  CB5099 Grass 01  gessoed and then painted with water and gelato's, and CB5106 Chevrons 01
which have been gessoed, gelatoed anddoodled on with a black marker.

Heat Embossing Chipboard and Charms

Hi Everyone, Anne Patterson here and Check out the NEW BLOG, isn't it FANTASTIC.

I am super excited to be here and share with all you Scrapmatts Fans.  

And here is the final project that you see me making in this video. This is a new release of a hanging heart and isn't it divine.  I have added some other items, such as hearts, chevrons, and a banner, but there are so many ways you could create with this.

And here is a close up of the charm in the center.

I have also created a card this month, which features one of the wonderful Scrapmatts Chairs, but also has one of the new Charms sitting on the chair.

I have also created this fun and flightful tag, which has assorted leaves (both chipboard and charm combined), and a kite and some cloud words (gotta love those cloud words).

And finally, I want to share a sneak peak of something else I am sharing in the Gallery over a have at the Scrapmatts Ning.  

As you can see I have also been playing with Cellophane......
