Let It Snow

Hello

Jodie with you today sharing my project for December.
Wow I can't believe it's already the end of the year.

This is my Let it Snow page, that I have put into a frame to create a beautiful Christmas gift using
Scrapmatts chipboard to embellish.

For this project I have used the stunning papers 'Let it Snow' & the collectables from Kaisercraft.
They are foiled and in the gorgeous mint green.

LOVE & LAUGH BUTTERFLY CANVAS

                          LOVE & LAUGH BUTTERFLY CANVAS

Good Morning Followers. Jodie here with  my DT post for June.
This is my love & laugh butterfly canvas.
It features lots of amazing chipboard from Scrapmatts.

To start the canvas, I have used this beautiful tissue paper that I recently purchased at the Perth Craft Fair.
I love the Parisian look.

Base of canvas using tissue paper.

I used clear gesso to apply the tissue paper and to seal it.
To create the washed out effect, I diluted dylusions paint and painted the wash over the tissue paper.
The collage stamp is from Darkroom Door and the postcard is from a Kaisercraft collection and stamped with pinecone ink.

This butterfly is from the CB1015 Butterflies Chipboard.
The Hexagon chipboard CB5122 is coloured with the gold ink.
I have embossed it with Stampendous Aged Marine Embossing Powder.
The feathers charms are from Toko Central in Bali.

This gorgeous little leaves are from the CB5177 Wildflowers.
I have inked with the Brilliance Gold Ink Pad
Flowers are from 49 and Market.

This cute love, laugh and hearts are from the CB6117 Assorted Words Chipboard.
I have embossed with Gold embossing powder.

To finish off the canvas I added some cheesecloth and black sewing twine.
Some pearl bling for the butterfly centres and coloured with Caramel Alcohol Ink Marker.

Finished canvas.

A Farewell Post by Christine

Hello lovely Scrapmatts followers.  Before I get hitched in two days time, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Sofie for my time here with the Scrapmatts team.  This will be my last Scrapmatts post and I had thouroughly enjoyed creating with all of the gorgeous range of Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils.

I have saved the best for last with three different projects.  First up is a layout:

Scrapmatts Chipboard: CB4071 String Circles 07

Scrapmatts Stencils: ST1038 Square, ST5001 Bubbles

This is one of my all time favourite photo of my girls, niece and nephew.  The largest piece of the String Circles chipboard set perfectly frames and features the photo.  For the background, I used the Grid and Bubbles stencils.

Second is a mixed media canvas:

Scrapmatts Chipbord: CB4070 String Circles 06 Roses

Scrapmatts Stencil: 9007 Circles A4

I stenciled some texture paste through the canvas for the background and framed the cluster with the gorgeous Rose String Circles chipboard.

Last but not the least is an off the page project which I specifically created for my wedding:

Scrapmatts Stencil: ST5022 Tile Pattern

This is a beer box which I turned to a wishing well.  I couldn't find any wishing well that suits my taste and so I made one especially for the special day...only two more days to go!  All this needed was a touch of Scrapmatts stenciling and voila!

A massive thanks again to Sofie...for believeing in my work and for making me a part of this lovely team.  I would also like to thank everyone who have left lovely comments on the blog, I appreciate every single one of them.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Scrapmatts' team inspirations.

Cheers,

A Girly Book Box by Christine

Hello to all our lovely Scrapmatts followers.  It's my turn on the blog today to share some Scrapmatts inspiration and this month I've created an off the page project which is a girly book box.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Black Scrap Words 23 (CB1237), Roses 02 (CB1202)

Scrapmatts Stencil: 9017 Net

The background texture of the book box cover has a layer of medium stencilled through Scrapmatts' new Net stencil, which come in a set of small, medium, and large size.  Isn't Sofie clever in giving us different size options.

Inside the book box are Scrapmatts' gorgeous Rose chipboard with the versatile Black Scrap Words chipboard.  I find myself adding these Scrap Words chipboards on most of my projects and I may need to get some more of them.  Just look at how they pop off the front and inside.

I especially made this for my daughter and she loves it as much as I do.  It has the combination of our favourite colors...hers is pink and mine is yellow.  Very girly, just the way we like it.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed my post this month.  Check out all the array of Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils HERE.

Cheers,

Christmas Creations with Christine

Do you know there's only five Fridays to go before Christmas...eek! This got me busy creating for Christmas and today I get to share a couple of them with you.  First up is a printer's tray.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Printer's Tray (CB7008), Pine Sprigs (CB1225), Flourishes (CB1003), Twig Frame (CB6086)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Leaf Sprays (ST5004), Stars (ST5039)

Other: Montage Creations Vintage Children at Christmas

I've painted the Scrapmatts Printer's Tray and chipboards with a variety of red and green Tattered Angels paints.

I then applied some glitter and crème pastes with the Stars and Leaf Sprays stencils for some background touches to this Christmas Printer's Tray.

Last but not the least is a Christmas Card.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Star Strings Circles (CB5138), Buckles & Belts (CB1231), Flourishes (CB1003), Twig Frame (CB6086)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Stars (ST5039)

Other: Montage Creations Vintage Children at Christmas

I've embossed the Star Strings Circles with a gold embossing powder and inked the Belt chipboard gold.  I've painted the Flourishes Chipboard with some Tattered Angels paints and the rest of the chipboards have been painted white.

I love how the Stars Stencil add a fun festive touch to Christmas projects, and the Montage Creations images are just gorgeous and take center stage on the tray and card.

These projects certainly got me into the Christmas spirit.  Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my Christmas makes.  Trust that the team has been inspiring you to create with beautiful Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils.

Can you see me smiling...

You should be able to see me smiling from where ever you are as I haven't stopped since I saw the amazing new releases from Scrapmatts this month :) Andrew and Sofie have outdone themselves particularly with the beautiful ranges of new chipboard frames and of course, the new charms (that one deserves a happy dance!!!)
Be ready for a bit of photo overload as I couldn't narrow down what I wanted to use - so I just made more stuff LOL!

Using Scrapmatts Chipboard Ornate Frames 21 CB6093, Scrapwords CB1197, Clock CB6048 and Leaves CB5086. Also using Scrapmatts Charms Filigree Flowers #7 CH014 and Clock from Assorted Charms CH031

The next card is using the new Heart Frame:

Using Scrapmatts Chipboard Heart Frame CB5113, Cupid CB1166 and Scrap Words CB1197. Scrapmatts Charms Filigree Flower #14 CH074 and Filigree Flower CH002

I love making tags and using the Scrapmatts chipboard tags mean I can put a lot more stuff on them! As they are made of chipboard it means they don't bend the way the paper shipping tags do:

Using Scrapmatts chipboard Tags CB3007, Ornate Frames CB6090 and Scrap Words CB1189 along with Fob Watch charm CH037

Angella Peardon (our DT coordinator extraordinaire) created a challenge for the DT to make a tag each month of 2014 so that we end up with a mini album made up of the tags at the end of the year. Angella's gorgeous work inspired me to create a box to hold my tags in instead of clipping the tags together:

Using Scrapmatts chipboard Screens CB4062, Scrap Words CB1197 and Alphabet Flags CB6084 along with Scrapmatts Charms Frame #5 CH081 and Arrow CH030. The Screens actually come with gorgeous feet on the bottom but I accidentally damaged mine while trying to make a previous project but I kept them as I knew I could turn them into something eventually :)

Finally! My tag for January 'Enjoy Life' The idea of my tags for the year will be to make the box my 'Happy Box' - full of positive sayings

Using Scrapmatts Tags CB3009, Scrap Words CB1208, Leaf Spray CB4063 and Butterfly CB1045 and Scrapmatts Charms Filigree Flower CH005
Enjoy the fabulous new release from Scrapmatts - I had a ball playing with them :)

Love is in the Air!

Woot! Love the new blog for the new year and some NEW chippies to show off as well!

Here is one of the stunning new designs hot off the laser cutter down at Scrapmatts HQ:

T <3 R

Here I have used the new chipboard CB5112 Hanging Hearts 01
(see below for how the chippies start off life!)

 CB5112 Hanging Hearts 01

I have used gesso and the Tim Holtz distress paints to colour this and finished off with a few extra embellishments, ribbon and a black felt tip pen.

Next up I have a layout I completed for the January post which I missed as I was quite ill with food poisoning! but I thought I would share it with you now:

The Grass Isn't Always Greener

Here I have used  CB2024 Picket Fences 07 which I have simply gessoed,  CB5099 Grass 01  gessoed and then painted with water and gelato's, and CB5106 Chevrons 01
which have been gessoed, gelatoed anddoodled on with a black marker.

Thanks for letting me share my new creations for 2014 and hope you are enjoying the new blog! Don't forget to check out the Scrapmatts ning gallery  too!
