How did it get so late, so soon!!!

Hi and Welcome to another post of mine.

Its hard to believe that we are already in June, before you know it will be Christmas.

I have two layouts to share this month. one of my daughter when she was about eight and now at 21.  Time just seems to go in a blink of an eye and this is exactly why I love scrapbooking.  Rather than having your photos stored in your computer, you get to reminisce as you scrapbook.

Happiness

I used the adorable little butterflies from the Scrapmatts Frame 02 along with the word happiness.

RACE DAY

I have to say the Scrapmatts circles are on of my favourite products
along with the splat template, so so versatile!!!

2 Layouts for June

It's the 16th again and my turn on the Scrapmatts blog.

Today i would like to share two recent layouts - both highlight the beautiful outdoors.

Scrapmatts Chipboard is so easy to colour.   I am a lucky enough to be on a couple of Design Teams and this was my layout for May. As you have probably guessed it was a white on white challenge.

We had a wonderful weekend away with friends, although a bit chilly, and this was the early morning view.  It was so beautiful and peaceful watching the fog lift and the sun shine through.

CB1022 Flowers 02
CB5123 Hexagon Mesh 02
CB6105 Assorted Words 23

Love how the chipboard flowers fit right in.

My 2nd layout is of the beach near where my mum and dad live on the NSW mid coast.  This was a layout I entered for a challenge. Love this colour combo and the Scrapmatts chipboard fit right in, again so easy to colour.  I painted the Diamond Mesh blue and then dabbed the Gold ink to give it some dimension.

ST1008 Cracks
CB5125 Diamond Mesh 01
CB6106 Assorted Words 24
CB6095 Assorted Words 18
CB1022 Flowers
Brilliance Pear Drops Gold

I hope you have found some inspiration from my layouts.  I know I do when I see what the other awsome DT members do with their Scrapmatts products.

I am excited as I am off to retreat in a couple of weekends - a chance to use more fabulous Scrapmatts products and scrap some photos of our recent trip to Vietnam.

Until July, happy creating.

Amy's turn to inspire your chipboard creativity

Hello There my Crafty Friends,
Amy here I love CSI challenge blog and feel very blessed to be ask to help contribute with Scrapmatts.
So here is my layout called My Big Boy

For this layout I have used CB6106 chipboard. Painted with lindy stamp gang magicals and gesso.

I hope you enjoy my layout. I really love this photo of my rugrats.

This Layout I used ST5016 with my favourite modelling paste,

 and SW017

Here is my layout 'Once Upon A Time'
White is a lot of fun to play with but sometimes I want some texture. So the starburst went perfect with my layout.

I've painted my title with acrylic so to tie in with my colours.

So I hope you love it I really love this collection from Echo Park.

Stay Scrappy

June Creating with Lizzy..

A big hello to you! I have a few things I would love to share with you today. I just love to use some SCRAPMATTS on my creations!

I have a couple of cards to share.  It is so easy to use some SCRAPMATTS on a card.
My first card is a lovely little one that could be used for any occasion using the lovely little HELLO from the word pack CB6106,

and a cute little card border..CB1020

which I have embossed in white..
and my card..
I have also used two stencils for some light texture on the back ground using stencils
ST5004

 and ST1028.

For my other card I thought I would try and do some mosaics.
I had a pack of these lovely urns and I thought I would try and jazz one up!

I painted it with black gesso and this would be the color of the grouting. Then I cut out some paper in the shape of the urn but a little bit smaller. As I cut up the pieces I stuck the pieces of paper on the urn in a mosaic pattern.
And this is what it looked like!
I created some stamped flowers and put my urn on a doiley on a card and added a sentiment from the pack CB1244

  and my finished card..

I hope if you have  one of those urns in your stash like I have, you will be inspired to do some mosaic work on it, it is fun and it looks great!

I also have a layout to show you that I created for a challenge.. The challenge included using the word DRAMA on my layout.. Well I wanted some dramatic chipboard and I just love the effect the flourishes have created on my layout.. I have used the flourishes from the pack CB4013 in black..

What drama they have added to my layout!!

Those flourishes really pop off my page!!

And remember to pop over to the SCRAPMATTS GALLERY to check out lots of creations using Scrapmatts, it just might give you some inspiration for your next project. All of the Scrapmatts  products I have used can be found in the
ONLINE SHOP HERE!!!

See you again soon!

Love that and Masculine Card

Thanks for joining me today, to see my Scrapmatts blog for June.
I really enjoyed playing with one of the new Stencils ST 5030 Flowers
to create some texture for this layout.

I used heavy water colour paper for the background, knowing I wanted to get it wet with sprays and texture paste and it performed really well.
I used a sketch by Laura Whitaker, with her permission.
She created it for ScrapMuch. Thank you Laura.
I added some tiny beads to the centre of the stencilled flowers.
The small flower buds are from Scrapmatts. They come in a pack of 25.
The paper is from Lemon Owl, "Forget me not".
Scrapmatts chipboard used:-
CB 5131 Bubbles 01 and the arrow title CB 6095
Assorted Words 18, all were heat embossed.
The stamps are from Prima.

The photo was taken during the school holidays, when we had all four Grandchildren for the day.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

It was fun seeing you all play together and getting along so amicably.  Esther, you were patient all morning and went along with the boys Star Wars Lego games.  You did try clapping your hands together at one stage and saying, “Listen up Boys”, but when you got no reaction at all, you gave up on that approach.   Eventually, after lunch, you managed to coax your cousins outside with the idea of mud play, although somewhere along the way, the playing evolved into a skirmish, with mud flying in all directions.  You got your wish, which was to “Get filthy with mud up to my eyebrows”!
26th April 2016.  Love Granny

My second project is a masculine card for any occasion.
Scrapmatts chipboard used:-
The birds, lighthouse and banner were treated with
a light coat of gesso
and the title left black
CB 1188 Birds 06
CB 1204 Ribbon Banner 01
CB 1221 Nautical Designs 04
CB 1189 Scrap Words 01

The papers are from Maja

Jewelry Inspiration

Hi there! Ever wondering how to effectively use chipboard pieces as jewelry?

Well, my post today is to show just how we can do that!

Using chipboard to make jewelry can be rather tricky considering it isnt the most tough of materials.

The key is to:
1) Use as little water as possible
2) Adhere similar pieces together, giving it a sturdy feel
3) Keep experimenting till you get the right look and feel

Here are some pics before I share a little tute:

Materials Used:

Step-By-Step Tute:
1) Adhere pieces of similar chipboard together
(i.e: frame to frame, giraffe to giraffe)
2) Add chain links to the top of the oval frame (as shown in picture
3) Jazz up your ensemble will some bling and other materials.
4) Wear it!
