Merry Christmas Shadow Box & Bush Xmas Sampler

Merry Christmas Shadow Box

Today I would love to share with you a frame that I completed recently using the gorgeous Merry & Bright Papers from Mintay.

These papers just lend themselves to fussy cutting and creating 3D effects.

FRAMED XMAS

Framed Xmas

Good Morning
Today I am sharing my Framed Xmas project with you.

This project was inspired by our very own Sophie.
I seen her version on display at the Scrapmatts stand and just loved it, so I wanted to do my version of it.

Here are a few pictures of the frame.

I have left most of the chipboard pieces raw, but to add some colour on some of the pieces I have used some fine tipped markers.

The papers used are Letters to Santa from Kaisercraft.
To colour the snowflake I have used the Picket Fence Distress Paint Dabber.

For the scallop frame pieces, I punched the edges with the EK Tools Dotted Scallop Punch.

The glitter on the chipboard and frame was added with a Zig Stella Glitter Brush.
Flower and pearl brads are from my stash.
Ribbon from Kaszazz.

Here is a list of the products used which you can find in the store.

Christmas Comes Early - Lauren Tomecek

I LOVE Christmas and especially Christmas crafts, so it's a good thing that Scrapmatts has an amazing range of Christmas chipboard which is updated every year. I've started my Christmas crafting early this year and created two projects to share today.

First up we have this fold-out scene box. I have created this from an old cereal box and a video tutorial from here. You can see some of the depth in the box in these detail shots.

And here is what it looks like all folded up:

My second project is a layout featuring my brother (shh, he doesn't know I scrapped this!). Can you tell I love the reindeer chippies?

I have struggled to paint the star bursts in these ornaments every time I use them but this time I think I nailed it. I painted them with a pin head rather than paintbrush. :)

Hope you all have a great Christmas, don't forget to share your projects with us over at the Ning gallery.

Celebration Layouts - Lauren Tomecek

I was going through my collection of pre-printed photos and came across this series of Christmas photos I took of Harrison last year. The DIY photoshoot was so much fun and I really liked the results but for some reason I haven't scrapped them yet. I couldn't resist this little face though. :)

I loved the plain string circles Andrew and Sofie released a while ago but recently they made them even better by adding stars, dots and arrows to the circles. I've used the stars version here (CB5138 String Circles 02) embossed in gold, along with CB1097 Floral Spray 01, CB1212 Scrap Words 14 and CB6097 Assorted Words 19.

For my birthday back in May three of my girlfriends took me on a 'surprise adventure', they only told me to get Ben to look after Harry for a few hours and then took me away. We had lunch (at a sadly disappointing Greek café) and then went to Escape Hunt. It's an escape-the-room game where you have to solve a variety of different puzzles to get through three rooms to get the code to get out. It was quite a lot of fun.

I have used CB6105 Assorted Words 23, CB6106 Assorted Words 24 and CB5031 Mini Frames 01. The camera embellishment and yellow twine were also left over from a Scrapmatts class I did at an expo.

Harrison's First Christmas - Lauren Tomecek

I love Christmas layouts, I have a whole album dedicated to them. Luckily, Scrapmatts makes a HUGE range of Christmas chipboard designs and there are new ones each year.

This year was a very special one for me, as it was Harrison's first Christmas. After a horrible start, which involved the family dog jumping at me causing Harrison to fall from my arms and hit his head on the floor, it turned into a great day. Harry slept through the majority of it, as captured in the photos.

I love this cheeky little photo of him peeking out behind his new teddy bear. The little elf outfit he wore was adorable but only lasted half the day, as newborn outfits tend to do. It's hard to remember he was such a baldy given how much hair he has now.

The lovely Scrapmatts pieces I have used in this layout are CB1212 Scrap Words 14, CB6097 Assorted Words 19, CB1224 Holly 03 and CB1097 Floral Spray 01. You know what I think one of the best things about Chipboard is? You can paint it to match the colour scheme of any layout, which makes it such a cost-effective embellishment.

Autumn is Here

Autumn is finally here!!
Mid March and we are at last getting some relief from the hot weather here in Western Australia.
I love the cooler mornings and evenings and watching all the leaves change colour.

Today I have a few projects that I would like to share with you all.

"January" Tag

I have covered the CB3008 Tags, in paper then used a stencil and gesso to add some texture. I have coloured the CB1016 Bird Cage in a gold distress ink, along with the CB1124 Hinge. I have also used

"February" Tag

As February is the month of "Love" I have created this tag on this theme.
I have used CB3007 Tags, the stunning new CB5113 Heart FramesCB1166 Cupids,
,CB1212 &  CB1189 Scrapwords , and one of our new and totally cute charms  CH030 Arrows.

My next project is a Layout that I have created using brighter than my normal choice of colours, which I did tone down using distress inks.

"Pictures of You"

My last project that I wish to share with you is one where I managed to get some natural photos of my eldest son when we had spent the day at the river. I have used the stunning CB8005 Layered Frame in White Mist.

" Remember When"

Thank you for stopping by and seeing what we have all been creating here at Scrapmatts.
