November Creations with Tania

Hello there!

Tania joining you today to share some projects I created for this month using lots of gorgeous Scrapmatts goodies!

First up this month I have a layout.....

"Picture Perfect"

I used the diamonds template to add a little texture to the background paper and once dry added a some amount of colour.

The large frame and butterflies I coloured using some Colour Blast Texture Paste and the smaller butterflies and leaves were coloured with Dylusions Shimmer Spray.  I finished the page with lots of pretty blooms and some titles from the Scrap Words 25 Collection.

Here's some close ups of my finished page.......

My second share for this month is a couple of Christmas cards, can you believe next month it is Christmas??

I wanted to add lots of layers to the cards so I built them up with distressed papers and some gorgeous gold doilies.  I kept the chipboard raw in the white finish on one card and the other one I painted my chipboard pieces in gold paint.  Added some matching blooms and finished off with a Christmas Bauble Title on each....

First card.

Second card.

Well that's all from me today!  I hope I have inspired you all a little.  Don't forget to check out the store here for all your Scrapmatts goodies, and also pop back to the blog to see the gorgeous creations from the other DT girls.

Until next time, happy crafting Tania xx

April creating with Helen - two layouts and a card

Hi there Scrappy friends, welcome back.
Today I'm sharing some projects for the SCRAPMATTS Design team.

The first two pieces were also combined with CSI challenges,
as Scrapmatts was generously sponsoring them.

Scrapmatts products used:-

I used one of Laura Whitakers sketches from March 2016 - thank you Laura.

The second project, was also a combined challenge for CSI/Scrapmatts
The Scrapmatts chipboard circle was wet embossed.
The Title was painted with distress ink and clear embossed
and the heart was randomly dabbed with a water colour wash.

Finally I have a masculine card inspired by my friend Margaret Mifsud.  I was honoured to receive one of her fabulous cards at Christmas time and loved the double front fold.
I used one of my favourite new stencils. ST5046 - Latttice
with some Gold Colour Blast paste on the background.
The chipboard flourishes were wet embossed. CB4069 Ornate Frames

And the CB1244 - Scrapwords 40 were left cream.

SCRAPMATTS design team post in a day or two.

Picture Perfect and a Card

Helen with you today.  Welcome to the New Year.
I hope your festive season has been filled with Joy and Peace.
Well we are off and running with another year of creating
and today I’m sharing two projects for the Scrapmatts DT.
to check out all the wonderful products in the store
I’ve used 49 and Market paper for the background, the Vintage Artistry collection, "Botanical Press".  The paper is sturdy enough to take lots of mixed media.
I used all sorts of left over bits and pieces of papers to form the mats.
I love this stencil which I used with texture paste and LSG spray
The Honeycomb chipboard was treated with Lindy’s Stamp Gang “Moon Shadow” mist
The Leather look Chipboard words matched the papers well without any treatment.

The journalling is on the back of the page and it reads:-

This is one of my favourite "little bubba" photos of you Oliver.  It shows your happy nature and your twinkling eyes.  It also shows that you still have your front teeth, so it was taken before they got knocked out.   Not long after this, you had a bit of a fall when Mummy took you to the play ground and you knocked your teeth right up into your gums.  The dentist said they might me OK and they did gradually come down again.  But one day when we were looking after you, you tripped and knocked them right out!!!  Oh no!  I was mortified that it happened on my watch. It was late in the day, we couldn't phone a dentist or get hold of your parents, who were on their way to pick you up.  The perils of Baby sitting.   Now at almost six, you still have a big gap in the front.
The perils of Baby sitting!  Photo taken 5th March 2013

The card was created on water colour paper.
The diamonds on the background were created by using crackle paste through
then rubbing distress ink into the cracks.
I used alcohol inks on acetate to create the butterfly.
      CB1243 Scrap Words 29
add the finishing touch to an all occasion card.

Thanks for calling in and for any comments you care to leave,  I love reading them.

'Happy Valentine's Day'

Hello dear Scrapmatts friends!

Today is a very SPECIAL day for the young (or not so young) & in love!
'Valentine's Day'!

For my husband & I it is our 24th Wedding Anniversary.....(that came around fast!)

So, of course I had to do a layout of the two of us.
I have used three of the
on this layout & also some glorious Scrapmatts chipboard

[EST 1988]

I have used the stencils to create background interest.
Using texture paste with the stencils & also some Distress ink and a blending tool.

The Retro Squares are simply stunning to work with as is the gorgeous
 heart design chipboard, below.

here are the stencils I have used for this project.

And the chipboard.....
&

I have also made a
'Valentine's Day' card

A sweet card for his 'Special' girl!

With the 'Hanging Heart' I have used Metallic Melts to add a touch of
colour & texture and with the Ornate Frame I have just smeared white acrylic paint
over the top of it, then added a few drops of glimmermist and wiped that along (just using your finger).

I have used.....
and the new
 'Leather Look'
I hope someone makes YOU feel a little
special, this Valentine's Day.
Until next time

Kim Ewins
