A Warm Welcome to 2019 'Simple Pleasures' layout by Kim

Happy New Year!

A very warm welcome to 2019 to all of our
dear Scrapmatts followers!

We have given you a few days to settle into the New Year and now we hope to inspire you!

Today I have a layout to share with you all.
A layout created featuring my Grandfather.

Let me show you.....

{Simple Pleasures}
My Pop lived on the land his whole life, working the land and he was also a dairy farmer....he was a giant man but always so wonderful and kind to me.

My brother was on a genealogy website and came across this photo of our grandfather with one of my uncles. Well I knew this photo needed to be scrapped!
Scrapmatts had the perfect chipboard embellishments to go with this precious photo!

[Isn't it just perfect!!!]

Now, I had these pieces in white mist, so all I did was ink them to match in with my paper and design. The Grass chipboard pieces came in the green, so no need to change them!
I also managed to find a little Scrapmatts silhouette dog to add to the bottom right corner.

I have had that giant Ric-Rac ribbon in my stash for so long. I cut small sections of it and frayed it out to make it look like grass and I really like the effect. Sometimes it's good to think outside the box.

May Creations with Tania

 Hi there!

Tania back joining you today to share my May Scrapmatts creations!!  Wow May already the year is just flying by!

In saying that my first share for today is a layout!

"You Make Life Beautiful"

I created the background for this layout using the Bubbles stencil, randomly placing it on the page and adding colour until I was happy!
I used the gorgeous Ornate Ovals in the White finish and cut them in half and added them to each side of the photo and on each edge too....  I embellished the page with lots of yummy blooms and finished it by tucking in some of the chipboard Stamens from the Wildflower collection and a chipboard title from the assorted words 28.

Here's a few close ups...........

My second project to share with you is a canvas!

"Love the Way you Smile"

I had lots of fun creating this.  I started by using the mini Printer's Tray 6 and adhered it to my canvas, separating the two pieces and overlapping them over each other, I then randomly used the Bubbles stencil over the canvas to add extra texture.  Once dry I gave it a coat of gesso. (see image below)

Then I had some fun adding colour, I wanted the canvas to be quite vibrant so I used Dylusions sprays and keeping adding colour until I was happy.  I altered the String Circles and Star shapes using Viva Inka- Gold paint and the Leaf Sprays with Lindy's Magicals.  Finished my canvas by adding lots of pretty blooms and a Title from the Scrap Words 21 Chipboard set.

A few close ups........

Well that's all from me today,  I do hope I have inspired you all a little.  Be sure to check out the store here for all your gorgeous Scrapmatts goodies........

Until next time, happy crafting Tania xx

Hello.........

Hello there!

My name is Tania Ridgwell and welcome to my first post as part of the Scrapmatts Design Team.

I am super excited to be part of the design team and can't wait to share my creations with you
showcasing the gorgeous goodies from Scrapmatts.

I would like to thank
Sofie & Andrew for giving me this opportunity to share my creations and work with their fabulous products.

My first project I would like to share with you is my Design Team Canvas.

I created the background for my canvas using the gorgeous Damask Stencil and some Dylusions sprays......
I also used some of the new chipboard from the Wildflowers range and added a piece of the chipboard Chains here and there.........

The other project/s I have to share is a couple of cards featuring two of the Scrapmatts Ornate Frames.

On the first card I used Ornate frame 03, I just loved this one and the gorgeous detail.  I altered it by using a little frosty glitter shimmer paste on it, gives it a bit of sparkle don't you think?

Second card...

Again I used another frame this card the Ornate Frame 10, I altered this frame by adding Lilac glitter paste, it just gave it a slight tinge of colour and then added some raw chipboard flourishes to the flower clusters on my card.

Well that's all from me today, I do hope I have inspired you all a little.  I look forward to sharing more of my creations over the coming months.......

Until next time, happy crafting Tania xx

Bright and Colourful - Lauren Tomecek

Hello again fellow chipboard-lovers!

Are you like me and you keep all those left over bits of chipboard? You know the ones, when you only have one piece left from the sheet, or you take it out but change your mind so don't use it on the layout, or even the extra bits you get in the Scrapmatts kits if you take an expo class? I have had a great time using up some of my leftovers stash to form the base of a small canvas display piece. The great thing about it is that it doesn't really matter what you have in this stash, because it will mainly get covered up anyway.

Scrapmatts chipboard: CB6103 Scrap Words 21, CB6113 Scrap Words 32, CB6091 Ornate Frames 19, CB6110 Ornate Frame 25, plus bits and pieces left over. Stencil: ST5013 (this is my go-to stencil for background texture).

You can see in these detail shots the background detail created by putting some texture paste through the brick stencil as well as the layers of chipboard in the background prior to building up the frames. The gold frame is embossed, and the top frame has a watered down mist painted over white acrylic.

Project two is a simple yet colourful layout featuring a favourite photo of my son. I wanted the photo to be the focus, so have kept the embellishments fairly simple.
