A Farewell Post by Christine

Hello lovely Scrapmatts followers.  Before I get hitched in two days time, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Sofie for my time here with the Scrapmatts team.  This will be my last Scrapmatts post and I had thouroughly enjoyed creating with all of the gorgeous range of Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils.

I have saved the best for last with three different projects.  First up is a layout:

Scrapmatts Chipboard: CB4071 String Circles 07

Scrapmatts Stencils: ST1038 Square, ST5001 Bubbles

This is one of my all time favourite photo of my girls, niece and nephew.  The largest piece of the String Circles chipboard set perfectly frames and features the photo.  For the background, I used the Grid and Bubbles stencils.

Second is a mixed media canvas:

Scrapmatts Chipbord: CB4070 String Circles 06 Roses

Scrapmatts Stencil: 9007 Circles A4

I stenciled some texture paste through the canvas for the background and framed the cluster with the gorgeous Rose String Circles chipboard.

Last but not the least is an off the page project which I specifically created for my wedding:

Scrapmatts Stencil: ST5022 Tile Pattern

This is a beer box which I turned to a wishing well.  I couldn't find any wishing well that suits my taste and so I made one especially for the special day...only two more days to go!  All this needed was a touch of Scrapmatts stenciling and voila!

A massive thanks again to Sofie...for believeing in my work and for making me a part of this lovely team.  I would also like to thank everyone who have left lovely comments on the blog, I appreciate every single one of them.

Keep your eyes peeled for the Scrapmatts' team inspirations.

Cheers,

January Crafting with Christine

Happy 2018 Scrapmatts friends!  This month I've created a page and a tag with Scrapmatts goodies.  First up is a chipboard tag:

Scrapmatts materials: Large Chipboard Tag, ST1021 String Stencil

I painted the large chipboard tag and then layered some mediums.  For background texture I stenciled some paste through the String Stencil and worked from there until the chipboard tag is finished.

Next is a layout which I thoroughly enjoyed creating:

Scrapmatts materials: CB2023 Roses 01, Stencil 9002 Hexagons

Starting with a white cardstock, I painted different colors and then stenciled different hexagon sizes from the new Hexagon Stencil Set.  I then adhered the Roses chipboard beside the photo and built the cluster from there and viola!

Thanks for popping in and I hope you've been enjoying some awesome Scrapmatts inspiration from the team.  Enjoy the rest of your month and I'll be back for more Scrapmatts creating next month.

October Scrapbooking with Christine

Hi there.  Today I'm sharing a colorful layout with Scrapmatts' yummy chipboards and stencils.  It features my youngest daughter punching holes around large leaves and then threading some string around them.  She had heaps of fun indeed!

Scrapmatts chipboards: Rose String Circles CB4070, Grass CB5099, Black Scrap Words CB1237

Scrapmatts stencil: 9007 Circles

I've added some texture paste and color through the Circles stencil for the background

I then painted the chipboards except for the Black Scrap Words and added them around the photo and clusters.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my quick and light mixed media layout.

Check out all the Scrapmatts range HERE, and make sure to come back for the team's amazing inspirations.

September Scrapbooking with Christine

Happy Spring to our Scrapmatts followers.  I hope you had a great weekend and have not forgotten daylight savings.  It's my turn this month to share some Scrapmatts creations, and for this month I have a couple of layouts to show you.  Let's start with an oriental layout:

Scrapmatts chipboards: Roses (CB1202), Butterflies CB1045), Black Scrap Words (CB6112)

Scrapmatts Stencil: String (ST1021)

I've added some red ink to the Strings Stencil and stamped it onto the background.  The chipboards are inked to complement the page.  The Black Scrap Words are then added for the title and sentiment.  I just love this gorgeous photo of my girls, niece, and nephew wearing kimonos and a ninja outfit altogether straight out from Japan.

Next up is my Distress Ink layout with a hint of grunge:

Scrapmatts chipboards: Hexagon Mesh (CB5124)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Hexagons (9002)

I've added some hexagons to the background with the awesome A4 Haxagons Stencil.  For the Hexagon Mesh Chipboards, I subtly added some rusty inking and added them areound the cluster.  This has to be one of the cutest pose of my youngest daughter that I have scrapped by far...tutus, fairy wings and all.

Thanks for popping in and I hope I've inspired you to create with Scrapmatts' chipboards and stencils.  Keep an eye out for the team's inspiring creations and check out all the Scrapmatts range HERE: http://papertoleaustralia.com/

A Girly Book Box by Christine

Hello to all our lovely Scrapmatts followers.  It's my turn on the blog today to share some Scrapmatts inspiration and this month I've created an off the page project which is a girly book box.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Black Scrap Words 23 (CB1237), Roses 02 (CB1202)

Scrapmatts Stencil: 9017 Net

The background texture of the book box cover has a layer of medium stencilled through Scrapmatts' new Net stencil, which come in a set of small, medium, and large size.  Isn't Sofie clever in giving us different size options.

Inside the book box are Scrapmatts' gorgeous Rose chipboard with the versatile Black Scrap Words chipboard.  I find myself adding these Scrap Words chipboards on most of my projects and I may need to get some more of them.  Just look at how they pop off the front and inside.

I especially made this for my daughter and she loves it as much as I do.  It has the combination of our favourite colors...hers is pink and mine is yellow.  Very girly, just the way we like it.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed my post this month.  Check out all the array of Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils HERE.

Cheers,

Layered Stencil Fun

I had such a blast at New Zealand's Scrapbook and Craft Expo at the beginning of July, and one of the best part about it was meeting Sofie and Crece.  It was so lovely meeting these fabulous ladies and seeing all the array of Scrapmatts goodies.

My daughters got to meet them too and Sofie gave them some stencils and chipboards of their choice.  Guess which ones they chose?

Scrapmatts Chpboard: CB1226 Marine Life 01

They love the sea theme and they've created a fun stenciled card.  They will walk you through their easy step by step instructions.

1. Position the Circles Stencil on top of a white card.

2. Spritz a light colored mist on top and let dry.

3. Position the Marine Life Stencil on top.

4. Spritz a darker colored mist on top and let dry.

5. Reposition the same stencil and spritz again to add more dolphins on the card.  Then, spritz some blue mist on top for the illusion of water.

6. Embellish with the Marine Life Chipboards, flower and sequins to finish.

And here's the girls' finished card.

They even chose the colors from my stash...clever girls eh?

Thanks so much to Sofie for the stencils, chipboards, and hugs :).

Telephone Box by Christine

Hello to all our Scrapmatts followers.  I hope you're having a lovely month so far.  I've been creating up a storm with Scrapmatts' gorgeous Telephone Box (CB7012) chipboard set and I'm so excited to share it with you.  Grab a cuppa and I'll walk you through my telephone booth.

Does it seem familiar to you? If it is, then you must be a Dr. Who fan!  It's very much inspired by the infamous Tardis.  It may not be labeled as "Police Box", but the colors and elements on this telephone booth are all Tardis inspired.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Telephone Box 01 (CB7012), Telephone Dial (CB5115), Circles 02 (CB5152), Sticks 02 (CB5153), Gears 03 (CB1075)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Bubbles (ST5001)

I like how the door is actually designed to open, and the hinges are actually provided for you.

I've painted all chipboard parts with Tattered Angels' High Impact Paint, then added layers of other mediums to add some contrasting blue color and texture.

I've added some Gears chipboard on some sides of the telephone booth, keeping to the Tardis theme.

At the back I've stenciled some black gesso to the Bubbles Stencil to surround the awesome Circles and Gears chipboards.

I went for a mechanical galaxy look and feel throughout the telephone booth, as I've mentioned having Dr. Who's Tardis as the main inspiration.

You may wonder, where is the top cover of this telephone booth? This gorgeous set of chipboard actually does not come with a top cover, because it comes with 4 chipboard tags that you can easily slip in and out from the opening.

In this project I've used 3 instead of 4 chipboard tags, which means I've got a spare tag left for creating.  These tags are also available to purchase separately from the Scrapmatts shop.

I've trimmed 2 of the tags smaller to get different lengths, and used the same paint to color the base of the chipboards tags.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: String Circles 07 (CB4071), Sticks 02 (CB5153), Burnt Cream Scrap Words 24 (CB1238)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Splatter (ST5010), Circle Stains (ST5009), Paint Drips (ST1009)

I then added some stains and drips stenciling on each tag to go with the masculine colors and theme.

The String Circles chipboards enhanced the tags' galaxy theme, along with the versatile Sticks chipboard.  The Burnt Cream Scrap Words were the perfect finishing touch to the each tag, and some extra splattering on top. I just couldn't resist :).

How good do the tags look inside the telephone booth?

I really enjoyed creating this Tardis inspired Telephone booth...it's masculine, mechanical and galaxy theme altogether with splashes of bright color.  It also gave me a wee break from using flowers and I always feel a crafty accomplishment whenever I create a masculine project.

Now I'm ready to give this to my friend who absolutely looooooves Dr. Who.  I hope she likes it as much as I do.  The show has such a clever idea of having a police box that transports you in different places and time.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed looking through my Tardis inspired Telephone Booth.  Maybe this has inspired you to create with Scrapmatts' off the page chipboard projects?  There's a good selection to choose from the online shop HERE, along with other Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils.

Until next month.  Keep an eye out for more inspiration from the Scrapmatts team.

Cheers,
