Merlin's Beard

MERLIN'S BEARD

CASE FILE NO 225

CSI CHALLENGE

Welcome to March. Already this year is flying past. March happens to be my favourite month, as I celebrate my birthday in the first week and lucky for me in the West (Western Australia) it always falls on a long weekend.

This month we have been asked to guest design for the CSI Challenge.
Head over to see all the other amazing designers and their work.

So here is the Case file that I have used to design my layout this month.

Merlin's Beard
This is my completed layout based on the CSI Case File.

EVIDENCE: I have used washi tape, things that fly, animals, circles, wood, feathers, stars.
TESTIMONY: I have handwritten on my background and started with an idiom.

I have used  CB1222 Feathers  and CB5158 Triangles  to embellish the corners. To colour the chipboard I have used Crushed Olive Distress Ink.

To frame my photo I have used the CB5138 String Circles. This has been painted with white gesso.
To create the background, I have used the ST1026 Circle Stencil.
The washi tape was a perfect fit for this layout.

The journaling says " I snapped this pic in my front yard. This beautiful owl was perched on the tree. It was early morning. I quickly grabbed my camera and managed to get this shot. When I look at it, it reminds me of the owl from Harry Potter. HEDWIG"

So my layout had to have a Harry Potter theme.
I hope you have enjoyed my take on the challenge and I look forward to seeing what the other DT members designed for this challenge.

All the chipboard on this layout can be found at
Scrapmatts by clicking on the link to their store at http://papertoleaustralia.com/

TRANQUILITY CANVAS

My second project is a Dreamcatcher Canvas that I have hand painted and used Scrapmatts chipboard to embellish.

For the centre of the Dreamcatcher I have used the CB4070 String Circle Roses.
I painted over the chipboard with acrylic paint.

The word is from CB6087 Assorted Words 15.
I have painted in Black Soot from Dusty Attic.

For the background I added stars with the ST5042 Star Stencil.
I then flicked gesso over the background for some added texture.

Here are the pieces I have used.

Whimsy Notes

WHIMSY NOTE BOOKS

Hello again and welcome to my DT Project for February.

This month I have covered the fronts of 3 note books.

This is the first one featuring the CB1220 Ornate Frame and the CB4070 String Circle Roses.

The charms CH036 are also from Scrapmatts.

To decorate the background I have used the ST1026 Circle stencil, gesso, plasterer's tape and Finnabair's Rust Paint to add colour to the chipboard pieces. I have also coloured the metal embellishments with the rust paint. The flowers are from 49 and Market. The washi tape is from my own stash. The image is from Dyan Reaveley Adhesive Canvas prints.

Ho Ho Holy Christmas....

 Ho Ho Holy Christmas....

I can't believe that we are only 10 days from Christmas and fast approaching the New Year.

Hello again.
Are we all organised for Christmas?
This month really is the silly season. I have been so busy with work, Christmas parties, appointments, market stalls that I haven't had much time to create.
So it was nice to finally get into my craft space and design.

The first of my projects I would like to share with you is a mini clipboard.

I started by covering with Christmas paper. I think from memory this is a Simple Stories range.
It's been in my Christmas stash for some time.

I then used the ST5042 Star Stencil to add some detail to the background.
With the CB5158 Triangles, I pulled them apart, painted them with Picket Fence Distress Paint and added to them to the background.
When I look at these they resemble Christmas Trees.
To finish off the clipboard, I attached the CB5164 Holly 05 to the top of the frame and added a CB5144 Layered Poinsettia to the bottom of the frame.
The gold Polaroid frame came with the mini clipboard.
To colour the Poinsettia and Holly I used my alcohol ink markers and to give the sparkly effect, I used my glitter pen from CTMH.
To finish off the frame I used the CB Assorted Words 19 - Christmas Memories.
This was inked in Silver.

The picture is of my daughter from a couple of years ago when we had photo booth props to take Christmas pics.

Here is a list of the products used in this project

The second project I would like to share with you is a set of 3 Christmas Cards.

To create these cards I have used watercolour pencils, background stamp, ST1026 - Bubbles Stencil and CB1227 - Christmas Ornaments and CB1229 - Chains

Firstly using watercolour paper, take the stencil and colour inside the circles in your desired colours.
Then take your watercolour pen and water wash the colours.
Then stamp the background.
I then added a border with my black marker pen.

I used the CB1227 - Christmas Ornaments and the CB1229 - Chains 02 to decorate.
Some I have left raw and the others I have inked in Gold and Silver.
I love how these have turned out and they were quick and easy.

These are the products I have used to create these cards

August catch up with Rikki

Good Morning, how are you all? Hopefully scrapping or creating something, its always a great day when you get to do what you love right?

I am here today sharing with you some Scrapmatts goodies..... I recently helped with Scrapmatts at the Arts and Craft Fair that was being held here over in the West, it was a great two days ( it went for 3), seen all and I do mean ALL of the products that the company creates and even getting to play with them with a few demos over the weekend. It really was great catching up with Sofia and Andrew and fellow DT member Rhonda.

To start off for those who came and said hi on Sunday you would have seen me creating an art journal page using a lot of Scrapmatts Stencils of my background and layers..... This is the finished product.....

See told you I used a few stencils........

Now for my second project for the month and as a bonus I have created a little process video for you as well...

Till next time, have a creative day
