A Scrapmatts Trio - Andrew Roberts

March is flying by and there have been some fabulous posts over the first part of this
month from the awesome new design team here at Scrapmatts.
This is my first post for 2016 and I have created a trio of projects.
Make sure you click on the photos to them up close.

If  you are unaware there are some wonderful stencils over in the Scrapmatts online store.
I have used some of them on each of my projects this month.

The first project for this month has a layout style with a mixed media flair.
I found a scrap piece of heavy weight box board so I thought what can I do with it. Then I reached for some of my stencils from Scrapmatts.

The one I used was:

Here is my creation. I love the photo, two of my sons sharing a special moment.

The chipboard Packs that I used on this piece were fun to use and are as follows :

CB6113 Scrap Words 32
CB1158 Butterflies 20
CB5123 Hexagon Mesh 02
CB5114 String Circles 01
CB5070 Australian Federation Screen Doors 05
CB4063 Leaf Spray 13

I have also included a photo of my back ground before embellishing so you can see
the stencil effect.

The second project for March is really a pair of mini projects that were a lot of fun to
make and are not to time consuming.
ATC's are a great concept and can take a multitude of different forms.
The Scrapmatts store has some great ATC choices, but I used the standard ATC style for my project.

The chipboard packs I used for the time ATC were

ATC28-001 Plain ATC
CB1072 Gears 01
CB1078 Gears 05
CB6101 Assorted Words 20
CB5132 Chains 01

The chipboard packs I used for the live life ATC were

ATC28-001 Plain ATC
CB1238 Scrap Words 24
CB1226 Marine Life 01

The Stencils used for these two ATC were :

Here is a photo of the background with out embellishments to get an idea of the result that can be achieved with Scrapmatts stencils.

The third project in the trio is a Scrapmatts tag. They are base to start your creative process
and can be incorporated into other projects as well.
I have to say this tag is my favourite of my projects for this month. I love the chipboard packs I used and the colour palette too.

The chipboard packs I used for this tag were some of my favourites and include :

CB3009 Tags 05
CB1232 Film Strips 05
CB6106 Assorted Words 24
CB5106 Chevrons 01

The stencil I used for this tag was a great back ground to give breakthrough
high lights of texture.

Well this completes my projects for March. I hope I have inspired you to give Scrapmatts Stencils a go on your next project and include you favourite chipboard packs.
Every thing I have used can be found over on the Scrapmatts online store

Thanks for stopping by and please come back to see more wonderful
creativity using Scrapmatts.

Happy Crafting
Andrew

March Creations by Lizzy..

Hello there and welcome to my first post as a member of the 2016 Scrapmatts Design Team.

I have a layout and card to show you today.

I have used a photo of my Sisters and I taken last year and I have created a soft feminine layout using floral papers and lovely chipboard pieces.

I have used the Dressform CB6037 which I have 'clothed' with some lace for a bodice and some pleated paper for a skirt.
And I just had to pop a pretty butterfly on my page too..  This one is from the pack CB4006 which I have colored with the Gelly Roll Pens which give the butterfly such a pretty sparkle.
And my layout which is centered in the large clock CB8003 which has been painted with gesso and white texture paste. The title is from the pack CB6112. Some fussy cut flowers placed around the clock to finish the layout off.

Remember..

And while I had those floral papers out I thought I would create a simple card. This took only a few minutes using some dies and my sentiment from Scrapmatts CB1244 and a delicate rose CB1202 as a finishing touch.  The rose was colored with the Gelly Roll Pens .

I love the wooden sentiments which adds dimension but does not add to the thickness of the card or to the cost of the postage..
Thank you for coming by today,
and you can find your Scrapmatt needs at the ONLINE SHOP HERE!!
Be sure to come by again to see more creations from the Scrapmatts Design team.
Bye for now!

Hello Scrappy friends, it’s Helen with you today.
Welcome to my first post as part of the 2016 Design Team.

It’s exciting to be part of this talented group
and I hope you find something to inspire you here.

My first project is, “Love the way you smile”
A page about my twin Grandsons.
The title is from
I used, CB5127 Diamond Mesh 03  as a mat.
I trimmed out the middle and used some of the spare
diamonds randomly round the photo.

The two piece heart set
Was heat embossed with Stampendous Ivory enamel.

The Today arrow is from

On the second layout,
“Happy Times”
I used one of my favourite pieces to frame my three gorgeous DIL's
They were having fun at a Girl's night out party.
Do you like the black wig?  All the better for dancing to "Grease" music!
There may have been leg warmers on show too.
CB6105 Assorted Words 23

I like the way the chipboard responds to gesso, texture paste, mists, or crackle,
in fact any mixed media you want to play with.
Scrapmatts chipboard is sturdy enough to take it all.

and some very versatile words,

For the final project,
“Happy Birthday”
I made a Birthday tag for someone special.
Using heavy weight card stock,
I covered it with crumpled tissue before adding mists.
The cluster is formed around a vine,
Using Twinkling H20’s for shimmer, I added tiny beads,
some skeleton leaves from my stash, a charm and some seam binding.

CB1049 Words 01 Happy Birthday
Painted with Glimmer Glaze
CB1005 Butterflies 05
Painted with Twinkling H2O's

By The Sea created by Rhonda

Hello Scrapmatts Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors...

I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to be chosen as one of the very talented New Design Team Members for my very favourite chipboard companies,

My first project is By the Sea
I started my first project off by using the pearlised Dew Drop Inks sold at ScrapmattsI coloured all the chipboard pieces then used a thin coat of crackle medium to give them all a 3D textured look...
In the mean time I took a piece of cardboard and used a scalpel to cut shapes out of the top layer of the cardboard to create the background to make it look a bit like waves, I then covered the cardboard with white Dylusions ink and once dry I mixed some acrylic blue paint and water and sprayed that over the dried ink, I was happy with the results as it turned out like a crazed look...
I then glued all the chipboard pieces where I wanted them then added some
real shells to finish it off...
So there you have it, my first project is complete...
To find the chipboard pieces I have used for this project they are as follows... CB1221Nautical Designs 04   CB1226 Marine Life 01  CB6064 Nautical Designs 01 and CB4067 Marine Life 02...

For my second project I couldn't wait to use the new stencils...
For this project I gessoed a canvas, then brushed on some acrylic paints, I then used some modelling paste and used the the Stars Stencil to get the added affect of stars in the early evening...
I then used the Tyre Tracks stencil to show my son's 4WD driving a long the beach.
I inked the chipboard pieces I wanted to use...
I used the small CB5122 Hexagon Mesh and CB5131 Bubbles 01...

So there you have it my first 2 projects created...

Thanks for stopping by, make sure you come back soon to see what the rest of the New Design team have been creating.

Until next time!

Birthday Card - Lauren Tomecek

Hello chipboard fans. It's great to be back on the 2016 design team, I'm so excited to see how different everyone's styles are. Unfortunately, having my reveal day moved to earlier in the month has caught me off guard, so I only have one card to share today.

I've mixed CB6018 Words 02 Happy Birthday and CB5137 Ornate Toppers 01 with the ST5003 stencil.

I did have an amazing shaker card to share too, but I already gave it to my husband and he took it to work before I could get a photo. :(

March Creations - By Crece T

Hello carfty friends, Crece here with you today to share a few things I have been working on using some wonderful Scrapmatts chipboard and masks.

First up I would love to share with you a layout I created ...

Yummy Toffee Apple

and some close ups....

I used ST5006 Stencil Circles

I also used CB5125 Diamond Mesh 01 and CB5106 Chevrons 01. I used Inka Gold to add a bit of colour to the chipboard.
The word Discover comes from CB1237 Scrapwords 23

My next share is a tag...

Forever Young

I created this Tag using a Scrapmatts Tag CB3003, I covered it with some paper and then went over the edges with some sandpaper.

I then used Ferro in Gold through ST1002 Stencil Diamonds on the background paper.
I heat embossed with Gold embossing powder on CB1120 wings 01.
The word forever comes from the new Leather Look chipboard words CB1240

I also added a Filigree corner #02 charm CH017  to the bottom of the tag.

My last share is a quick little Easter card I created...

Happy Easter Card

On this card I have used CB5099 Grass 01 and the egg is a chipboard ATC that I covered with paper ATC10-019 Egg 01

Thanks for stopping by, make sure you come back soon to see what the rest of the New Design team have been creating.
