September Creating with Lizzy

Hello there! How are you today? It is Spring and my garden is singing with blooms and bees and I love it!

So I have a layout with a spring feel to it to share with you today. In September there is in Toowoomba a Carnival called "the Carnival of Flowers' and there are many private gardens as well as the Parks that are especially prepared for this time. For todays layout I am using a photo of my Daughter sitting in front of a beautiful bed of Lavender taken quite a years ago during the Carnival of Flowers.

and I will share some closer views of the lovely Scrapmatts products I have used.

I stenciled some leaves onto the background for some interest.. I had some Federations Corners that I painted with white acrylic paint and popped them in the corners of the background page.. I also wiped some white gesso around the edges with my finger. The leaf spray was painted with water colors.. I did lots of layers of the water colors to bring up the color.

This is a close up of the layered Design, the bottom piece was painted with the purple and the top piece was painted with white.. It makes a lovely contrast. My title came from the Assorted Words pack.

I thought this Flower sprig worked well on my page.

On the other side of my photo I used the Lavender Spray and those sweet little butterflies were from that pack too.

and my layout..

humm I can almost smell the lavender!!

MemoryDex Cards- By Crece T

Hello fellow Scrapmatts fans, Crece here with you today to share something I am really enjoying at the moment creating... MemoryDex Cards

MemoryDex cards are a great way to make fun little memory cards, you can add photos, favourite quotes, special notes & stories you want to treasure.
I will eventually add some photos and write a few little memories from my last cruise I went on back in 2019 to the back of each of these MemoryDex cards.
These are fun ways to also use up left over patterned papers you have lying around.

Here are 3 I have created with a Beach Paradise theme using
Scrapmatts Chipboard

I left the drink with umbrella & straw raw as the white mist looked effective against the yellows & pinks from the Mintay Paradise range.
I add a little pink paper string the the tag also.

I have used a darker yellow here for the sun so it would pop. The umbrella is a mix of yellow with hints of pink, and the glasses I used pink ink to colour them.

The pineapple from Beach 04 is adorable, I used yellow and green ink to colour it and added the Tropical Bliss chipboard tag word with some pink paper string.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
Be sure to come back again and have a look at all the other wonderful creations from the rest of the Design Team.

Wedding Bells

Well with all the madness that has been happening I missed my post for last month.

I work in a pathology lab and as you can imagine it has been pretty full on with the amount of Covid tests we have been receiving to process.

I have managed to make the time to do some crafting and created what I think is a beautiful page celebrating the wedding of two very special people.

The gorgeous range that is available made it so easy to make a truly lovely page.

These are the products that I used -

Next I have a very simple card that it very multipurpose, it could be used for a wedding, birthday or whatever the occasion.

The beautiful pink flower stamens came from Scrapmatts also, not visible on the website but if you contact Sophie I am sure she could get them for you.

Well that's it for me this month, hopefully we will all be able to get back to living our lives, seeing our families and going where we want to go.

Take care all and be safe.

Love and hugs

Capturing the feeling you are after...

Hello again creative friends,

I'm back again this month with another set of scrapbook pages and a card - all made using the versatile products found in my Scrapmatts stash.

For this first layout I was completely inspired by these BEAUTIFUL gum leaf stencils...

you know how it is sometimes when you find yourself looking at a product thinking 'I'm just dying to use this!' ... well thats exactly how this layout come into being...

I started by adding some small circles in white and light green around the lower half of the page...

After this I added the gorgeous gum leaves using the A5 Stencil... mixing colours as I went with some light, medium and dark green inks...

And on top of it all I used some birds from my all time favourite stencil as well...

To get these simple yet effcetive birds on the page I simply traced their images and filled them in with black.

Then I finished off the page by adding some simple black chipboard shapes and words.

.

And to add that very 'Aussie river bank' feel I used these amazing barbed wire chipboard shapes to frame my picture and decorate the page...

I LOVE the look of this one simple embellishment!

This next layout was one I wanted to be very bright and very fun ... the photo has captured a fabulously funny moment in our family and making the whole page whimsical was my number one priority.

The bright busy papers did most of the hard work for me, but some simple black chipboard shapes added to the whole page finished it off nicely. Sometimes simple and easy is exactly whats needed.

I coloured these lovely leaf sprays with black ink to tie in with the various journaling on the page...

And of course added some special chipboard journaling words as I love to do ...

And to finish off today I'm sharing a simple card I made recently for a very dear friend. She's not a very tizzy or fussy person, but I wanted to keep it bright and playful so I opted to use glitter gel pens to colour the Happy Birthday chipboard title...

It was a very simple process where I used red on each letter and then added a bit of orange to the base of each letter to give it a variegated colour effect...

Then next I used this fabulous circles stencil for the back ground of the card - I love this stencil because it reminds me of fireworks and always looks so festive!

It actually looks even better when you use texture paste through it, but time would not allow me that trick so I used a pink glitter gel pen and just drew the stencil shapes onto the card ... simple yet effective.

And thats it from me this month ... thanks for sticking with the post to the very end.

Cheers from Kel
