Ahoy There

 Ahoy There Me Hearties!!!

Wow I can't believe that we are in November already. This year really has gone way too quickly.
I hope your Christmas plans are coming together....mine haven't even started!!

I have had time to do a little scrapbooking and this is my latest project that I would like to share with you all.

This layout features photo's from a cruise my husband and I took last year through South East Asia with Princess Cruises.

The wheel was the perfect frame for our photo.
I have also used the CB6095 - Assorted Words 18.

With these clusters of collectables I have used the CB6071 - Assorted Words 07 for the titles.

The lighthouse, compass, life ring and steering wheel (sorry don't know the technical term) are from the CB4059 - Nautical Designs 03 set.

To create this look on the background I have used the ST1016 - Tyre Track Stencil.

These are the chipboard pieces I have used on my layout.

Thanks for stopping by and please take a look at the other wonderful projects from the design team.

You can find all this wonderful chipboard at www.scrapmatts.com.au

Always Unique - Scrapmatts DT

Hello again Scrappy friends, thanks for visiting today.
I have some projects to share using Scrapmatts wonderful products.

First up is a page about our darling GD.
The photos were taken recently and show how much she's grown in the past few months.
Because the Maja papers are a bit busy, I kept the page clean and simple.
The circle chipboard was lightly sponged with distress ink. I used it as a frame.
The flowers responded well to inking and the addition of tiny beads.
The bow to gathered them all together.
Love the new chipboard words which I inked randomly
with different greens and topped with Glossy Accents.
The gold spots were added through a stencil with Silks acrylic glaze.
Products used:-

With Christmas in the air, I also made a two festive projects.
The first is a fun Bon-Bon card inspired by Collette Mitrega.
When it's closed it measures about 4" x 4"
and when pulled completely open it's 12" x 4"
The folds look a bit complicated, but it was quick and easy to do.
Great for using up all those little scraps and giving them a new life with some gorgeous chippies.
Scrapmatts chipboard used:-
CB6111 Assorted Words 27,  (the little tree comes with these words)
CB1228 Christmas Ornaments 14
CB1229 Chains 02

Finally, I made a shaker Christmas tree ornament.
CB6089 Christmas Tree 05
This comes in two sections.  I painted the chipboard at the back,
then the raised tree outline with a slightly darker green, with gold for the star and the base.
When all was thoroughly dry, I hand cut a piece of acetate to fit.
Popped in some sparkly bits, added the acetate on top and voila!

Thanks for calling in and for any comments you care to leave,  I love reading them.

Beautiful Moments Last Forever. By Rhonda

Beautiful Moments Last Forever.

The craft room has once again held me captive and would not release me
until I was able to complete another couple of DT Projects
to share with you all so I hope you enjoy...

Craft might be one of the loves of my life but it is not the only one
and coming a close second...Oh OK...I suppose
I can place him ahead of it this time...lol...Is my husband Rob.
Without him little of what I do would come as easy as it does
so it is fitting that I dedicate this
"Beautiful Moments Last Forever" canvas to him.

The CB5116 Feathers 01 were the inspiration here as
they reminded me of the gentleness of my man but for the rest,
it was to be feminine to show the dedication he has towards his wife...

What better way to start than with the "House of Roses" paper
to happily compliment the strong geometrical lines
so representational of my husband in CB5156 Triangles 01

All my lovelies on the shelf behind were so delightfully
screaming out for me to bling things up a bit with the
"Say It With Crystals" and from there it really was as simple as
adding a few flowers here and there to compliment
and balance everything else with the final touch being
the small butterflies and hearts.

So there you have it, quite a simple project but something
that made me smile the whole way through...
Thanks again Sofie & Andrew at Scrapmatts for always having
the diverse range of chipboards to inspire my creativity.

Santa & His Reindeers Xmas Card

Christmas cheer is ever present in everyones minds at
this end of the year and being able to send and share warm wishes
with all that are dear to us can sometimes
stretch our minds to create something new...

For me, traditional Xmas colours are normally far from my pallet so I was surprised to find myself enjoying the somewhat earthiness in this one.
Otherwise, not a lot to be said about this one as it virtually assembled itself before my very eyes...

Delivering the message front and centre with the lovely Red Bauble that was part of CB1228 Christmas Ornaments 14 was a no brainer.

The magnificently matched colours straight out of the packet from
was perfect, needed no touch-ups and
complimented everything else I had planned.

So that ends another 2 projects and although I am now allowed
to escape the clutches of the craft room the desire to
continue to create is strong and I look forward
to sharing my next creations.

November Love - Lauren Tomecek

Just one month to go until Christmas, I can hardly believe how quickly this year has flown by! I have two projects to share with you this month. The first is a mixed media tag in my trademark purple/blue/pink colour scheme. I love how sturdy the Scrapmatts chipboard tag bases are, you can really abuse them with multiple different mediums and techniques.

I've included a close up shot of this project too, to show the tulle backing to the heart, the crackle finish to the edging of the heart and the painted details on the metal charms.

Project number two is a layout featuring my two favourite men, my husband and my son. The photo is from Harrison's first swim in our complex pool.
