May layouts

Hi everyone
Lisette here with my layouts for May. Happy Mothers Day (I know I am a day early!)

Again my layouts feature stencil work and the gorgeous Scrapmatts Chipboard.
I think this is definitely my style at the moment.  Love getting messy!
I met a creative friend for coffee recently and she was very impressed that
I still had paint and colour on my hands!

The first one is my Design Team layout for Show Us Your Stuff May Challenge.  The inspiration
this month is a beautiful quote - 'There are so many beautiful reasons to be happy'
together with some fun pictures.  Both my girls love Nutella and while we where
at the Salamanca Markets in Hobart they shared a Nutella pancake.

I used lots of Scrapmatts chipboard as well as a stencil and a stencil with Colour Blast
 texture paste and shimmer dusts.

Product Used
 CB6117 - Assorted words 30 (happy)
CB5166 - Leaf Spray 15
CB1071 - Hearts 04
ST1011 - Stencil Borders

Once again I completed a layout for a challenge and got the dates mixed up so missed the final submission date 😢.   I have used Colour Blast texture paste through a Scrapmatts stencil and then added some Scrapmatts Chipboard.  Love the colour of the water - so blue, clear and clean.

Products Used
CB6106 - Assorted Words 24 (look)
CB6105 - Assorted Words 23 (perfect)
CB4060 - Ornate Frames 17
CB2005 - Page Borders 5

I hope these layouts have inspired you to create with the wonderful products
available at Scrapmatts.

Wishing all the mums a very happy Mothers Day, hopefully
you will get a chance to relax and do
some creating! (with Scrapmatts of course)

Until next month

Happy Scrapping

Scrapmatts May creating with Helen - a layout and a card

Hello and welcome back to Scrapmatts.
It's Helen with you today.

First I'm sharing a bath time layout;
the bubbles stencil and chipboard seemed just right for this page.
This little Bubba loved his bath. No matter what mood he was in before he hit the water, he instantly became angelic in the suds.
I used my favourite embossing powder on the wings and the string circle frame.
It's Aged Ivory from Stampendous.   The Bubble chipboard was just swiped with Gesso and I used Liquitex texture paste through the stencils.

Next up is a vintage style card
This is a tent style card, so that I could attach a ribbon at the top.
I decorated the inside as well. The paper is from Pion.
I inked the spray of Roses and added shine with Glossy Accents.
The ornate frame was wet embossed with Aged Ivory from Stampendous.

My May Creating!

Hello there, I hope this month of May has started well for you! And for all the Mums out there, I hope you get something special for Mothers day too..

I have a couple of creations I would like to share with you..  The first one is a card that I have embellished with  some lovely SCRAPMATTS chipboard.

I did some paper pleating across the front of the card and placed a lovely Card Border 02 which I embossed in white on top of the pleats to hold the pleats in place.. I also embossed the Flowers 03 in pink and put a fabulous sparkly gem in the centre of each one..  And for the Sentiment I used the word Celebrate from the  Scrap Words 24.

Here are the products and a link to the shop.

Seaside & Dreams

Hello my happy crafters and fabulous followers...
This month I bring to you a layout featuring my daughter

and one of her besties and a trio of tags inspired by the
seaside location where I live.

FOLLOW
Your Heart & Dreams

Beginning with a nice floral paper I chose to place the
focal point near to the centre inside an Ornate Frame and decorated
the radiating surrounds with a combination of

The Page Border was dissected and utilised about the layout with
one part being decorated with a pearl as a topper.

The flowers were bunched with a collection of paper straws and skewers
and bound with florist wire and string.

A number of hearts were embossed to match some of the
earthy tones of the flowers as well as a way to introduce texture.

Scrap Words are always a great way to include a title on many types
of projects and although these great friends are now separated
by distance they both know they must Follow their Heart & Dreams.

Seaside Tag Trio

Digging through my stash I found a few jumbo tags and
instantly thought about marrying some of Scrapmatts lovely seaside
chippies with them...The height would fit nicely with lighthouses.

Each of the tags were stenciled with different patterns to tone
down the glossy backgrounds that were already a part of the tags.
On this I used some of the very new Distress Oxides to bring out
some colour and not having used these before I wanted to sample
a fair selection of them and was pleased with the results.

Each tag was dressed with some fishing net and adorned with
Additional to this I used some serviette images to extend the theme.
The final touches were to add the lighthouses, sand and shells.

My Boys - Lauren Tomecek

I'm normally a pretty bright and colourful scrapbooker but this month I've taken it to the extreme! First up I have a rainbow explosion page with a photo of my husband. I told him if he wants to take silly selfies then he should expect to see them on a layout. :)

I started by doodling my background in Gelatos, then washing that out with some water and playing with how the drips ran. The background has some extra texture as I applied gesso through stencil ST5003 on the left and right sides. The heart topiary (CB1110 Topiaries 01) is a classic chipboard piece, I've used two packs in my time with Scrapmatts. CB4063 Leaf Spray 13 flourishes in black provide some contrast to all the colour. I've used CB1159 Hearts 05 in the red, CB1166 Cupids 01 in white mist finish in the purple and CB6116 Assorted Words 29 for my title.

My second layout for this month is another bright and colourful boy themed layout about my son and his messy feet. They are always running or jumping or climbing or kicking.

I really wanted to capture the 'messy' aspect of having an active toddler, while still keeping a 'clean' layout design. The paint splatter stencils ST1009 and ST5010 were perfect to create that effect, using a little bit of mist. I mixed the same mist in with some texture paste and painted the title pieces from CB4055 Assorted Words 09 as well as some CB1078 Gears 05 pieces, you can see the great effect this created in the close ups. I covered a CB5117 Tabs 01 piece with patterned paper and added it to my top cluster.

I also created a little bonus project this month. Harrison had painted these wooden star bases earlier and I was saving them for a 'special occasion'. We had a few elderly neighbours pop round to give him some Easter treats, so I turned the stars into thank you gifts with the addition of a photo and some Scrapmatts chipboard. The sentiment is CB6020 Words 06, coloured with a silver sharpie. I've also added a couple of stars from CB1223 Stars 03 painted with acrylic paint.

Love you to the moon and back - Crece Thomas

Hello and welcome to my May post. I love this time of year, and one of the reasons is I get to celebrate my mum and celebrate being a mum! Mother's Day will be here soon and I thought what better way to celebrate then by doing a layout of my boys and I for my mum.

Love You To The Moon And Back

here are some close ups of the layout using some really lovely Scrapmatts Chipboard pieces.

I love using Film Strips 05, they are great to tuck behind photos.
and this design has an old vintage feel to it too. I have used Black Soot distress ink to colour this piece.

The word Love comes from Assorted Words 28.

This pack is great for using as titles for your scrapbooking pages, and also useful for cards and tags.
I have used a Black Sparkle Gelly Roll Pen to colour this chipboard.

This close up shows 2 of my favorite chipboard pieces.
The trusty Diamond Mesh 03, this is one of my go to pieces to tuck under areas of my layouts and cards to break up and make the main part of my work pop off the page.
I used Distress Ink in Hickory Smoke to colour this.

My other favorite is this NEW piece Leaf Spray 15
These are great to use to tuck in with clusters of flowers and so easy to colour coordinate them by painting, inking or spraying different colours to suit your projects.
I have used Slate Grey Dylusion ink spray to colour the ones used on my project. I liked th softness the spray gave to the chipboard.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look, come back again soon for some more inspiration or head over to HERE to see the Gallery.

Merry Month of May!

Kim here to start off the month......
May is the month that we give thanks to that special woman in our life, the one who gave us life, guided us in our formative years and is often the best friend we will ever know.....
OUR MUMS!
Here is a card I have made

I have teamed up the Brick stencil with some sweet Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers & the uber cute
elements from the Flannel Flowers chipboard pack and I have also used the negative from Assorted Words 21, for my card.
(Making best use of your purchases).
