Summer cards by Elena Smoktunova

Hello dear friends!
Summer is coming, and already the sun is shining, warm and happy soul! And so much inspiration around, that I not was able hold, and made three summer bright cards!
In the compositions of many plants,
flowers, lots of my favourite chipboard ! I painted it with silk.
The first two cards are made from the same paper collection and are similar to each other. They are even more about the forest fairies. It turned out very interesting, unusual shape. and beautiful.

The third postcard is also summer, but about cute owls.
There's a lot of summer chipboard I painted, too.

HELLO..... DT Canvas by Novita Ferris

Hello everyone....

My name is Novita Ferris and today my first post as part of the Scrapmatts Design Team.

I was very delighted to have been asked to be a apart of the design team for Scrapmatts.I would like to thank you to Sofie and Andrew to giving me this opportunity.
I can't describe how excited I am to share my creations with you using such magnificent and inspiring product from Scrapmatts. Scrapmatts chipboard words, flourish, frames and also stencils are fabulous for decorating for your layout, card or OTP project.

Here is my first project I would like to share with you is my Design Team Canvas.

First I used gloss gel and painted over the canvas. After that for created my background canvas I've used stencil on different places with white modelling paste. When it was dry I painted randomly some Prima watercolour and Distress Oxide colours.

Here are some close up photos...

All chipboards I have painted with Prima watercolours and Distress Oxide colours. Also I used some embossing powder and after then I applied some wax colours.

As a finishing touch, with dry brush I applied white gesso in all of the edges of the chipboards to give a softer effect. I have added stamps and mica fragments.

The other project to share is a tag.

Gift Set

Hello Crafty Friends

Well as usual the months are just flying by, its hard to believe we are already half way through April.  Personally I'm looking forward to some cooler weather, not something we see a lot of in Queensland....we are all about the humidity :).

Today I share with you a gift set I have created.  The little gift bag will house not only a small gift but it will also double up as my envelope.

For the gift bag I have just used a paper lunch bag and inserted some cardstock to give the bottom strength.  I layered the background with scraps of paper from the card as well as some stamping and glass bead gel
Rather than use a pre-printed quote I have gone with some Scrapmatts words and one of the smaller frames to frame it all.

The card has a lot more layering,  I started with some cardstock followed with a timber look printed paper.
The timber paper was cut, distressed and inked.   I have also used Stamperia's crackle paste with a Scrapmatts template, followed by some of the Scrapmats, String of Roses chipboard.

That is all from me this month and I hope it has inspired you to get crafting.

Two layouts for April

Hi everyone and welcome to my April post.

This month I set the challenge over at Show Us Your Stuff challenge blog and the beautiful Sofie and Andrew here at Scrapmatts are sponsoring it.

I chose the theme to be  "Its all about me".  As scrapbookers we don't usually feature ourselves, this is the time to do so.  Pop on over and have a look at the Design Team's layouts and you can see how varied they are.

I have used lots of my favourite embellishment on this layouts and they are all from local Australian companies and handmade businesses.

As usual I started with a stencil or two and used Colour Blast Paste and shimmer pots to create my background.  I matted my photo with Red cardstock and then used Coco Vanilla papers, stickers and words.  I added a heart, a flair and flowers.

That is not all I used!  There are quite a few Scrapmatts Chipboard pieces.  The swirl, tag, frame and word pieces have all be altered with Colour Blast Shimmer colour and embossing powders.
