May Inspiration

This month I have a few different projects to share with you, as always. Last weekend we had international Scrapbooking Day so I managed to get a little creating done the night before mostly. And that even meant a double layout!

I seem to be scrapbooking less and doing a bit more card making lately, which is a good stash buster. A good habit (maybe) that I've gotten into over the past couple of years is putting all my paper scraps into a box so I can use them up for layouts and cards. I've been meaning to pull out the box and just do a mass card making session although with the amount of scraps in this box, I may need a whole month!

Do you have a similar process?

Also, for all the mothers that happen to be reading this post, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day. I still haven't made mother's day cards so I will have to share them next month!

Happy Mother's Day

That special time of the year to celebrate Mum's is here this weekend! It was an excuse for me to go all girly and pretty with my projects this month (not that I ever need an excuse LOL!). The gorgeous new Shadow Box was the first thing I was itching to play with - these have endless possibilities! I sprayed mine all white as I wanted a shabby chic feel to go with the beautiful vintage image I found:

Using Scrapmatts Shadow Box 1A16, Ornate Frame CB6092 and Scrap Words CB1197

The Ornate Frame CB6092 is a perfect fit inside the Shadow Box and creates a beautiful detailed layer to frame the image:

Another gorgeous new product is the cute Stamp Mini Tray. This makes a quick and easy project that is so much fun to play with:

Using Scrapmatts Stamp Mini Tray CB6094, Scrapwords CB1206 and Arrow Charm CH030

Finally I created my monthly tag, again going with the Mother's Day theme:

Using Scrapmatts Tags CB3009, Ornate Frame CB5095, Scrapwords CB1192 and charms Filigree Flower  #3 CH005 and Lock #2 CH019

Wishing all the Mum's a wonderful day on Sunday :)

Up and Away with Scrapmatts

The cool breeze is blowing and it has taken me up, up and away in my creativity.
I have gone down the constructed pathway for my May project.
Waiting to reveal this project has been a challenge and I hope you love it as much as I do.

Steam Punk Hot Air Balloon

I love the colours of this project and of course I have perpetuated my addiction
to gears and clocks.
The scrapmatts I have used are some of my favourites and include

Clocks 08 CB1107
Gears 02 CB1073
Gears 01 CB1072
Gears 05 CB 1078

Here are some close ups I love the variability in the sizes, this alone creates a
great effect plus the heat embossing giving great colour coordination.

In the top there is a little photo mount mini album. The album covers
( front and back ) utilised the following scrapmatts.

Film Strip ATC10-22
Gears 05 CB1078

I really love the ATC Film Strip chipboard and ail probably sees another project
using them soon.

Here are some close ups of the mini album, the film strips make great frames.

Please make sure you come back for more wonderful projects by the Scrapmatts
team and please post your creations over on the Ning gallery

Wow, May already....

Can you believe it is May already?  The time really flies when you are busy.

Well I have two creations I would like to share with you.  The first is one of the shadow boxes that I have used to create a memory keeper.

Inside the box is the Garter Belt from my wedding.

I have also used one of the new assorted words (with arrows) [so cool]

And added a few hearts after embossing the blue to match the box.

For my second share I have a Layout I created just for fun.  This has a picture my mother sent me years ago from their trip to London.

And what is a London Layout without a telephone box, combined with a travel tag and a compass charm.

Hope you have enjoyed my creations

Layout By Guest Designer Lisa Saunders

Hello, it's Lisa here with you today Guest designing for my second month with Scrapmatts : )

I thought it was about time that I documented this very annoying habit that my 14yr old has developed. When she is asked to do something that she doesn't want to do, she says 'Seriously???' and then follows it with a big Darth Vader type sigh..
Drives me potty.

I'm enjoying playing with all this pretty chipboard so much but I just don't want any of it to go to waste. I was using some of the hearts the other day and thought it would be fun to use the negative piece too. So I coated it in a white distress stain first.

I then used a gold ink pad to coat it again and brushed over with some gold Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam and sprinkled over some sparkly glitter and stars that came in my Cocoa Daisy kit last month.

This piece of chipboard has now been totally transformed and no long looks like a piece of waste.
It's perfect for a girlie page.

I added some arrows and some butterflies to finish the LO off.
These were both covered in the same white Distress Stain and brushed lightly with a pink ink pad.

The chipboard that has been used is:

Thanks so much.
Enjoy the rest of you day.
