Easter Fun

Hello everyone, hope you have had a wonderful week. Today I would love to share with you some Easter inspired creations I have recently done using some wonderful Scrapmatts products.

First up is my Shadow box

 I love the shadow boxes from Scrapmatts, they are a great way to create a little gift to give to that special someone.

Here it is on an angle...I placed purple ribbon in a coordinating purple around the outside of the shadow box.

The second project i'm sharing is my April Tag

Using 6x6 pads

Hello

As this post goes live, my family of 3 should be enjoying a luxury cruise along Halong Bay in Vietnam with our holiday soon due to come to an end. I am sure it will result in some holiday inspired projects in the coming month or so too ;)

But for now, here are some April creations to share.

Does anyone else have a massive collection of 6x6 paper pads? I must have at least 20 of them & other than my background paper, my layout was created with one... Plus some Kaisercraft collectables. But sometimes I try & use some up & bulk cards are a good use. The below 5 cards were created with about 4 mini pad pages, some blank cards & of course Scrapmatts. Great way to use up supplies and have some back up cards in case of last minute special events.

New beginnings...

Easter is a time of new beginnings and it could not be more apt for our family at the moment. My scrapping has been few and far between as we have sold our old house and are now moved into our new home! I managed to create my projects for this month surrounded by packing boxes. Why is it that the scrappy item I need always seems to be in the last box I look in!!!!

I created this Easter card using one of the gorgeous new frames that Scrapmatts have released - I love that the centre is reminiscent of an Easter egg :)

Next project was my monthly tag. The song 'Happy' constantly comes on the radio and it makes me feel good each and every time! So my theme for this month had to be 'Embrace Happy'!

Finally I decided just to have a bit of fun and play with one of the current trends - Chalkboard. I painted my Scrapmatts chipboard Tag black and once it was dry I stamped it with the message I had chosen in embossing ink. I then heat embossed the stamped image with white embossing powder. I left a little of the embossing powder on my tag as I wanted it to look like a slightly smudged chalkboard print.

Ornate Printer Tray

April has arrived and I can't believe we are in the 4th month of 2014 already.
I have been in my craft room creating using   

  the scrapmatts  printer tray ( CB7008 ) that I am showing you today.

I have used graphic 45 by the sea collection for my back ground papers and this gave me a perfect colour palette for the remainder of the project.

The embellishments I have used have a nautical feel for the most part and were 

created using kraft card stock, assorted other materials and
scrapmatts chip board.

I also used embossing powders and distress inks.

I think this project demonstrates you can create your own unique embellishments with a few resources and simple inking and embossing techniques.

I love to create detail if I can to give my creation dimension and interest.

I am teaching this project locally at the end of April, so I had to use my signature detailed style whilst trying to keep a simple construction technique.

Storybook Imagination.

Hello there, today I'm sharing a layout  of my daughter Mackenna featuring Scrapmatts chipboard in it's Raw form  - or as it comes! There are a few hidden pieces also with a splash of colour on them. 

In case you didn't know - Scrapmatts chipboard comes available in - White mist -Black and Raw and some specialty items have numerous colours to choose from.....such as the Scrap Words mini tag on my layout  'A Perfect Day'!

Snow much fun, with lots of chipboard.

For something a little different this month, I got to play with some super cute pictures a friend of mine provided me with of her daughters.  I had lots of cute pictures so thought they needed a double.

As it is hard to see the detail when you have the pages I will share them with you separately as well.

And for a close up of the chipboard combination.... I have used a NEW Ornate Frame, with some snowflakes and some travel words.  All come in this lovely White mist, and I just added some stickles to the snow flakes to add some glitter.

Then for the right side of the page....  

Again i have used the travel tags, and Snow flakes, but here, I dug through some of my chipboard alphabet flags.... and I happened to have JUST the right letters left, to make the word ZOOM, perfect for these skiing pictures.

(the colour in the middle of the lantern is a Gelly Roll Clear Sparkle Pen)

And finally, some more scrap words, in cloud shapes.

Finally, I'm going to quickly share with you the LO I created for Scrap the Boys this month, which happens to have Scrapmatts as one of the sponsors.

The challenge is to use flowers on a boy layout and I happen to have chosen to use some Scrapmatts Roses.

I have also used a NEW Chipboard Heart Frame (behind my title).

Here's a little about Lisa...

Hi I'm Lisa and I'm really happy to be guest designing for Scrapmatts this month.

I love scrapbooking, card making and playing with the messier stuff too : )

I thought I'd start my first Scrapmatts project off with a layout.

I was really drawn to the Chipboard Filmstrip Frames. I thought that these would look so much fun as photo frames on a page.

I've used 2 sets. Sometimes I feel when you make a multi photo layout, it's hard to make the page still look cute and not too busy and over crowded. I felt by using these frames it really helped me achieve what I wanted and it doesn't feel busy at all.

Here is the layout.

  The larger frames (CB3002) come in black which was perfect. 

I also selected the cute Micro Chips - Mini Filmstrip (MC1013) 

I needed to change these to black to match. I simply misted them with some black Maya Mist, left to dry for a bit and all was good and ready to go.

I was now ready to turn them in to little photo frames.

We went to Orlando, Florida back in 2012 and Hollywood Studios was a park that I that I hadn't scrapped much about. I printed off my photos, measuring before roughly what sizes they needed to be. I cut them down, meausuring up against the frames to make sure that I didn't trim too much off. I added some pva glue to the back of the frames and stuck the photos down in place. I did this for all the frames.

After putting the layout together, I finished it off with some Chipboard Scrap Words (CB1199) that fitted this layout perfectly. I stuck a small strip of 3d foam tape to the back of each one giving it a little height so it rested on the frames rather than sitting flat on the actual page.

I'm so pleased with how this has turned out. It's possibly even my favourite page in my Orlando Scrapbook, so a big thank you to Scrapmatts : )
