October Creations with Tania

Hello there!

Tania joining you today to share a couple of projects I created for this month using lots of gorgeous Scrapmatts goodies! 

 First up I have a mini canvas to share...... 

"You Make Me Smile"

I wanted to add lots of texture to the background of the canvas so I used a couple of Stencils Numbers and New Cheese.  I covered the canvas with both stencils until I was happy.

Here is a photo before I added any colour.

Next I had some fun adding lots of Dylusions sprays.  I wanted to add some black to tone in with the Black Chains & Gears chipboard I was using.  Below is the canvas before I embellished it.

Next I added lots of paper layers and then layered my photo over them.  I still wanted to add a bit more texture so I used some Gold Leaf and Prima Art Stones.   I added the chipboard Chains & Gears, a chipboard title and finished off the canvas with lots of yummy blooms.

Next up is a layout to share.....

"Timeless Memories"

To start I added some texture to the background page using the Damask Stencil.  Once dry I splashed on some Dylusions spray.  I added some paper layers and then the photo overlapping them.  I framed my photo using an Ornate Frame in the white finish.  I coloured a couple of page borders using the same dylusions sprays I had on the background page.  After I had embellished the page with flowers I tucked the chipboard page borders into the flower clusters.  I finished off my page with a chipboard title.

Tania joining you today to share a couple of projects I created for this month using lots of gorgeous Scrapmatts goodies! 

 First up I have a layout to share...... 

"Simply Beautiful Memories"

I used the Cracks stencil to add texture to my background and then added a little colour using Dylusions Sprays, Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical's and some Rose Gold foil leaf on the background page too.  Once dry I added a few paper layers and lots of fussy cut elements to the background page.  I coloured some chipboard feathers with dylusions spray and tucked them into the fussy cut feathers. I framed my photo using one of the Arrow String Circles in the white finish.  Added lots of pretty blooms and a Scrapword to finish of the title!

My second share for this month is also a Layout.  

"Memories last forever and ever"

I used white cardstock for the base and then added lots of layers to it.  I then added texture to the page using the Moroccan Patterns stencil.  Once dry I added my photo.  As my chipboard pieces were already coloured with either the white or black finish I didn't alter them.  I added the large Clock face to the top of my photo and the smaller one to the bottom.   I cut the Bubbles chipboard into pieces and tucked them under the photo and under layers of the patterned papers.  I them embellished the page with lots of yummy blooms and finished off with a title from the Scrap Words 32.

Love Is In The Air by Rhonda

With Christmas done and dusted and my family fresh in my mind

the following 2 projects showcase the love my children

express to those close at heart.

Scrapmatts really do spoil me for choices with their diverse range

of products again making it easy to transpose my ideas into little

pleasures like the wee little Shadow Box and Happy Canvas below.

The Shadow Box's simplistic nature creates a great environment

to house special moments like this.

Cherished Moments

The shadow box comes like a flat pack and first needed assembling

so my 1st step was to glue the picture to the background.

From there you build the sides ensuring they are square with

the back and once dry assemble these two components...

To help the part stay together I wrapped it with some patterned paper.

 

Whilst they are drying its now time to work on the front.

For me this meant colouring each of the top frames in

sandy & ocean colours.

Dressing the box with some nautical marine chippies really made a difference...

I tried the lighthouse on the outside first but thought

it looked much better inside.

Affixing a piece of string to complement the beach feeling

to hang was the only thing left to do.

I just love doing canvases and taking inspiration from my

daughters dress set to work in my busy craft room. 

To break up the plainness of the canvas and add depth

I first stencilled some circles & bricks then coloured it with some mists.

I then coloured the individual chipboard pieces with

Brilliance Inks and set them aside to dry. 

 

The group of flowers in this and the opposing corner

were chosen to highlight the background whilst adding

that special bit of femininity.

I made a dress out of strips of lace, ribbon and string beads

the same colours as the dress in the photo and

draped it over a Dress Form.

The photo was from a night out at a wedding and I felt

that a chandelier would fit well with the theme but as

Scrapmatts didnt have one I made it myself out of an

ornate topper and some chain.

Again I turned to my lovely Scrap Words for a fitting title

and keeping it simple with just one word was my choice...
