Time To Remember and Say Goodbye - Tracey Fowler

With a heavy heart and wonderful memories it is time for me to say "Goodbye" to being on the Scrapmatts Design Team.

I have had the most fabulous time over the last three years and have felt very honored and privileged to be part of such a a wonderful group of people.

I can not thank Sophie or Andrew enough for all their support, opportunities they have given me, and encouragement. It has been an amazing journey for me personally and have some amazing memories of my time with Sophie at CHA , working with Scrapmatts at Expo's and teaching in Brisbane.

For my last post I have created a card using one of my favorite pieces of chipboard (chain circles) and then would like to share with you some of my favorite projects I have made over the years using Scrapmatts Chippie!

Christmas Tags - Lauren Tomecek

Christmas is the perfect time for sharing handmade gifts with your family and friends. I love being able to whip up some quick tags to go with our presents and the best thing if they can be either really simple or quite arty.

I started with a very simple Santa Suit tag for my Secret Santa present at work. The buckle and words have a coat of gold embossing powder heat set over them for some bling. Scrapmatts: CB3007 Tags 03; CB1231 Buckles & Belts 01; CB6098 Words 27.

I also used the ATC bases to create some arty gift tags with a mix of lace, texture paste, microbeads and mists. Scrapmatts used: ATC10-010 Bracket 01; CB1094 Reindeer 02; CB6083 Bows 01; CB1104 Holly 01.

'Christmas Creations'

Hello all  :)

Kim here to share with you some festive creations!

Each year I like to have a Christmas theme, just to make it a little more exciting
(mainly for me).
This Christmas I thought I would go for a Scandinavian theme.....so think of natural, earthy colours.

Here are a few of the Christmas tree decorations I have made!
I simply grabbed some material in desired colours
(I still want to add some brown tones). Using
some good old  Christmas cookie cutters, I traced around the shapes & cut them out.
I then stitched them mostly together, added some stuffing & finished off the stitching.

I then either stitched or glued the Scrapmatts Words/elements into
place.

I also added lace and tiny twine to a few.

I really like how these little decorations turned out....very easy to make &
very cost effective and the best thing is they are original.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my post and before I go....
I would like to wish you all a truly wonderful
Christmas & a Happy and Healthy 2016!

And if you are traveling please keep safe

All the best

Christmas Countdown - Crece T

Hello everyone, only 13 sleeps till the fat man in a red suit arrives so I thought I would help my kids with the countdown by creating my latest Scrapmatts project.

Christmas Countdown Shadow Box

I have used the double window Shadow box from Scrapmatts and used some beautiful chipboard pieces to decorate it.

close ups...
The left window is for the 'countdown'. I created little cards with numbers to peg on for the countdown.
(I inserted the string under the outer frame by using a stapler. The outer frame then covers the staples so no one can see.)
I used green ink to colour the chipboard Holly, and then used the red Gelly roll pen to colour the berries.

In the right window I used this to display a Christmas photo of my boys I also coloured the new chipboard tree CB5143 with a darker green ink, coloured the star gold and the base red. I added a red bow and red sticky bling (for baubles) to finish.
I also added the 'naughty or Nice tag from Scrapwords 17 CB1215

I hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas, and I cant wait to share new and exciting Scrapmatts projects with you in the new year.

Farewell to a wonderful team

After five fabulous years it's time for me to bid farewell to this amazing Design Team. Sofie and Andrew have been amazing and it certainly has been an adventure filled time! I wish them well for the future and look forward to see what they have in store for 2016!
When I was thinking about what to make for this blog post, I decided it had to be a vintage style tag with an ornate frame - I might have done one or two (!!!!) over the years! The photo is from Scrapbook Expo when Sofie surprised me while I was teaching and brought in the one and only Mr Tim Holtz - I still can't quite believe that happened!
Scrapmatts products used: Tags 05 CB3009, Ornate Frame 13 CB4056, Ribbon Banner 01 CB1204 and Words 05 Thank You CB1051
The frame and Thank you word title have been heat embossed using a chunky vintage gold embossing powder for a fabulous vintage finish

While looking back and trying to pick some of my favourite projects for this post I realised how much fun I've had playing with such amazing and versatile products. So here goes for my top ten favourites!

Thank you for everything Sofie and Andrew and the incredible team members I have worked with. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year!

Gentleman's Game with Tracey Fowler

Hi Everyone,

I am sure that everyone who reads this post will know exactly where I am coming from when I say that just about every Saturday is taken up watching at least one of my boys if not both on some sporting sideline. Summer time means lots of cricket in our house!! I will admit even though I am not Australia's No 1 cricket, I certainly am learning to tolerate the sport and actually love watching my boys play the game that seems to go on for most of the day!

"Gentleman's Game"

I have created the background using scraps of paper and gelatos along with  white gesso, texture paste and stencil. I have heat embossed the circles CB5131 Bubbles with aged gold, and white washed the Charms and flowers to pull it all together. I have also used the CB1107 Clocks  cut in half, inked them black and placed them in the amongst the clusters.

"Happy Birthday"
 Card

I have created this card using this gorgeous CB6092-Ornate-Frame, and inked it  with a gold ink pad.
A must to have in your stash are scrapwords and Titles. Scrapmatts has a fabulous collection just follow this Link and you will find lost of words to use on your projects.

Christmas Comes Early - Lauren Tomecek

I LOVE Christmas and especially Christmas crafts, so it's a good thing that Scrapmatts has an amazing range of Christmas chipboard which is updated every year. I've started my Christmas crafting early this year and created two projects to share today.

First up we have this fold-out scene box. I have created this from an old cereal box and a video tutorial from here. You can see some of the depth in the box in these detail shots.

And here is what it looks like all folded up:

My second project is a layout featuring my brother (shh, he doesn't know I scrapped this!). Can you tell I love the reindeer chippies?

I have struggled to paint the star bursts in these ornaments every time I use them but this time I think I nailed it. I painted them with a pin head rather than paintbrush. :)

Hope you all have a great Christmas, don't forget to share your projects with us over at the Ning gallery.
