Life’s a Beach

For those of us in the southern hemisphere the weather is finally warming up and beach days are back!

🌞 🐚 🐚 🐚 🌞

This is of course my favourite scrapbook page theme so I'm kicking the 21/22 summer season off with some  beachy layouts and a special card...

Stencils are the hero's of this first page ...
I've inked Circles on the background of the sky, shells onto the sandy base of the page
and of course some silhouette flying birds about like gulls.

I also ended up using some of these super cute beach chippies as embellishments on the page - coloured using Distress inks. And of course I have a scrap words title to top it all off.

Summer Holiday Layout

Sometimes you need to get more than just one photo on a page right?
Well holidays photos are a lot like that for my huge family and divided pages
are a great way to get this done.

Here I have separated my photos into the existing panels on the paper to help frame
them nicely while still getting a decent number of the onto the page.

I used my beachy chipboards to simply dress the page up after getting all my photos on there

And as I often do - I tossed as many of these scrap words all over the page as I could.
I'm not a HUGE fan of journaling - but I do enjoy setting the mood with these wonderful little word tiles.

And with my leftovers from the two pages above I was able to make this special Z-fold card.

This special one was for my Daughters 16th Birthday - she adores the beach also and
you have to go the extra mile of the big birthdays right!? 😉

Scapmatts have this fabulous Z-Fold card template that makes these kinds of cards too easy.
All I needed was a sheet of A4 card stock, a scorer and a pencil and this was
ready to decorate in 3 mins flat!

The chipboard 'Happy Birthday' title was coloured using distress inks - a light blue on
the top of the letters and a darker one on the base. Over the top of these I added shine lines with
a medium while gel pen - for a nice glossy wet look.

And yes - again with more scrap words ! lol
🤣 🤣 🤣

Well that's it from me this month my creative friends,
but I promise to continue to bombard you with summer layouts well into the coming season.

Many, many smiles

Love This Moment

Good morning This month I have started with Christmas and have done a layout using some vintage paper and book pages as the base to build from.
I have also added some of the Scrapmatts lace to the background for a softer feel to the base.
In amongst the fussy cut leaves on the bottom of the page i have added the Scrapmatts Twigs 02, which have just been very simply inked using a soft distress oxide ink.
The title CT058, was painted with red paint then glossy accents applied over the top once dry
Anyway, it was short and sweet this month, but hopefully I may have inspired you to think outside the norm when it comes to starting a scrapbook page. Thank you Heather

Food layouts!

 Hi everyone,

Lisette here with my layouts for September.

This months challenge at Just Add Flair, is food related. So many of our special occasions, and every day events are centred around a meal and the food.

Although the focus of my two layouts isn't the food itself, they are about events which revolved around food.

The first layout, which is my DT layout for Just Add Flair, is from Easter this year and the family sitting down for lunch.  I also did something different this time.  I have done two 12x6" pages.  They are quite simple and have no mixed media background!!

Planner Essentials

 Hello & Welcome

Now that my kids are a young adults I don't really have the photos like I used to and scrapbooking a 12" page can be a real struggle.  Then thinking about my own photos, well they are just not as frequent....hmmm why one asks.  I suppose because we don't think about taking pictures as much off ourselves and what we do.    Well recently I come across Elizabeth Craft Designs and I love the concept of Planners, not in the traditional sense of a daily insert, but just the idea of shrinking everything down and documenting things that I did, something more for myself.  I have to say its a bit of a learning curve shrinking everything down and thankfully Scrapmatts have some perfect little chipboard pieces that work in beautifully.

These will be my first few pages, I want to document around Covid, as much as everyone is sick of hearing that word.  However this has been life changing for so many people in many ways and whilst we who have lived it might not forget future generations may or may not come to know it as we did.

I went with the Simple Stories Lemon Zest Collection, thought it was fitting.  We all know the old saying when life hands you lemons you make lemonade.  I feel like that is what so many of us have had to do to get through these times.

By clicking on the above link you will see the items I have used from these two Card Element packs.

I've only used the word Family from the above piece and of course the little snails
was so cute I had to somehow make sure that little guy went on it, symbolysing how slow
life had become in this pandemic.

Well I hope you've enjoyed my share today, something different and I hope it gets you thinking that you also should maybe documenting more about yourself than other's all the time.
