January inspiration with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my January Scrapmatts  inspiration.
This layout was made (as usual) with a photo of my beloved 3 years old grand daughter Netta and this time I stayed in this tri- color combo of yellow, light green and grey.
I used Scrapberry's The art of Nature collection to scrap our family natural art aka  this lovely little girl who makes us so happy.
The background was made in a light Mixed Media style with some background stamping, using  one single Scrapmatts Sticks stencil and white acrylic paint.
Lots of pieces were hand cut from the patterned cardstock, mostly leaves, flowers and some birds too and glued with 3d foam glue for dimension.
I added  chipboards all over the layout (and under the pieces too), all heat embossed with black embossing powder to fit the colors of the page, but one flowers piece that was heat embossed with light green embossing powder and you can see it inside the flowers cluster.

Here you can see the arrow and the sticks piece (the same as the stencil).

Another arrow from the bottom and the circle around the photo can be seen here:

More close ups to the center of the page and the modern  title made of several chipboards.
You can also see that I added a flowers chipboard together with hand cut flowers and some fabric flowers all together and yes, you can combine different materials to make one  unique cluster of embellishments.

The sub title small cluster was added on the top of the page saying that beautiful moments last forever!

My other project for this month are two similar cards made with one paper collection, but with different Scrapmatts chipboards.
I made  the first card as " Home Sweet Home"/Just for you card and the second as Hello, Live life card.
Totally different meanings, but both cards are in the very same style and colors.
Here is the first card- the Hello one.
I made the die cut background and added the Hello chipboard heat embossed  with black powder using Assorted words 28 set. Than the Card Borders 03 piece was added under the  word and again, heat embossed with black powder.
The window  piece was heat embossed with Vanilla color powder and added under the word.
The last Scrapmatts touch was the Live life words on the corner.
So easy to make a great cards with just paper and some gorgeous Scrapmatts chipboard!

My second card was made with Diamond mesh as the  part of my background.
The house was heat embossed with blue embossing powder and I added the bottom sentiment  and the upper second sentiment to make it more interesting.

Here is a close up to the house and the bottom sentiment:

And another one to the upper sentiment:

Traditional and Mixed Media Layouts with Christine

Hi everyone! Can you believe that it's nearly February in just over a week? Where did the time go?

Today I'm sharing a couple of layouts with you, one traditional and the other mixed media.  Let's start off with the traditional.

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Ornate Frames (CB4069), Flowers (CB1025)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Honeycomb (ST9002-A6)

I've inked the gorgeous Ornate Frames chipboard white and layered it around the photo of my eldest daughter, which added a detailed layer on the layout.  I love how this Ornate Frame chipboard frames and enhances the photo.  This would have to be one of my favourite Scrapmatts chipboard at the moment (among the new chipboard designs...tee hee).

I've also inked the adorable Flowers chipboard to match the motif of the papers.  I've added some subtle stenciling with the new Honeycomb stencil.  The edges of this awesome stencil has honeycomb etchings on them so you can stencil borders on your projects with ease.  How clever is that?

Here's a closer look of the Honeycomb stencil on the corners of the layout:

Next up is a mixed media layout.  Are you ready to step on the dark side?

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Nested Stars (CB5021), Assorted Words (CB6116), Butterflies (CB1045), Scrap Words (CB1237)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Leaf Spray (ST5004), Strings (ST1021)

I painted the Assorted Chipboard white for my title which gave it a nice contrast against the black background.  I like how the Scrap Words chipboard come in different cut shapes, like the cloud on the celebrate word.

I embossed the Nested Stars chipboards with some glittery black embossing powder and then layered these under my youngest daughter's photos...because she's a superstar just like her sister :).

I applied a couple of black mediums to the Strings and Leaf Spray stencils for extra texture.  I lightly inked the Butterfly chipboard for a subtle color and glimmer.

Thanks for popping in and I hope you enjoyed my post this month.  Which one do you prefer, clean and traditional, or a little mess with mixed media? Let me know your thoughts.

Lets get organised - 2017

Welcome Back!

For those that have been popping in out over the Holiday I hope you have been expired by the beautiful design teams work, I know I certainly have.

This year I thought I would get a jump start on some ready made gifts to use through out the year. First up I have a mini photo book which I've tried to make gender neutral.

I have used Scrapmatts Scrap Words 17.  Although Christmas themed,  it just shows how if you think outside the box, they can be more versatile than what you probably intended them for.

I have also brushed these wee word tags lightly with some Duke Colour Shimmer.

My 2nd project I've created a gift tag,
another lovely little handmade item that will jazz up your gift!

I've used the word Wish and coated it with some lovely
Duke Shimmer Dust along with Kindy Glitz.

These are the Scrapmatts products used:

CB6116 - Assorted Words 29
CB1215 Scrap Words 17

All of these can be purchased over here :http://papertoleaustralia.com/home

Thanks for stopping by and hope you've enjoyed my share for this month.

Bye for now!

Happy New Year

Hello and welcome to my first post for 2017.
I hope you all had a great New Year and that you have found time to be creative.

Today I would like to share with you my latest DT project for Scrapmatts.

"Look At Me Now"

This page has been designed with Authentique "Felicity" papers, 45 and Market flowers and fabulous chipboard from Scrapmatts.

I really love these papers and the CB4007 Frame was a perfect fit for my photo.
I coloured all the chipboard with Gold Ink.
I then embellished with flowers and used collectables from my stash to match the papers.
I added the title from CB6116 Words. These were great as they came pre-coloured in black.

Look @ me now words from CB6116 Words 29

Always Smiling Word is from CB1241 Scrap Words

For the second page I wanted to frame my photo's, so I found the CB4017 Picket Fence was just the right fit.

The photo's were taken last year in Bali on our Scrapbook Retreat on the rooftop of our hotel which had a garden. So I wanted my layout to have that summer garden feel. So picket fences, flowers and butterflies seemed appropriate.
I also felt great as by the time these photo's were taken, I had lost 38kgs. So I was feeling fabulous.

Picket fence is from CB4017

This scroll is from CB4063 Leaf Spray
The butterflies are from the CB4007 Frames

Here is a list of the products used.
