October inspiration with Irit

Hello ny dear crafty friends and welcome to my October Scrapmatts inspiration.
Irit is here and I made two totally different projects for your eyes !

This  month I am going to share a layout and an altered Mixed Media Steampunk tag just to show you how versatile Scrapmatts chipboards and stencils are.

So here is my layout for you:

This travel page is all about " I don't even remember where  I was while taking those photos".
We travel a lot. And Europe is close and cheap  for us and very much similar. So maybe it was in Macedonia and maybe in Italy and maybe in Malta or... I am really not sure.
But who cares? This is me and I like those photos and those peacocks and my Scrapmatts chippies around this page.
So I used a couple of Circles, Film strip (photos need it) and a word Travel and added some background circles with my favorite Circles stencil.
And now for some close ups to this page :

Scrapmatts products used:
String circles CB5139
Film strips 05 cb1232
Assorted words 04 CB4051
Stencil circles CT1001
Chains 02 CB1229

And as I said- my second project is a Mixed Media tag in my favorite Steampunk style.

This is my new altered tag made with Scrapmatts gorgeous Gears stencil using texture paste and then painted with a mix of DecoArt paints over is.
All borders and Scrapmatts chipboards are painted with gold acrylic paint.
The Angels are casted with Makin's Clay white clay in a mold from some unknown company and then lightly painted with the same gold paint.

Birth & Birthday Creations With Christine

Hi there, how's it going? Christine here posting a couple of projects filled with Scrapmatts goodness.  I've titled my post for this month "Birth & Birthday", so let's start off with my birth mixed media layout:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Diamond Mesh (CB5127), Assorted Words (CB6115), Gears (CB1073), Butterflies (CB1045), Black Scrap Words (CB1197)

Scrapmatts Stencils: Squares (ST1038), Borders (ST1010), Cobblestones (ST5014)

I’m not big on scrapping photos with myself on it, but this particular picture is very special and close to my heart and deserves a special page.  The birth of my first daughter definitely changed my life forever, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Hands down blue is my ultimate favourite color so I incorporated many shades of blue for my background with the help of Scrapmatts Cobblestones, Borders, and Squares stencils.

 004

The chipboards have been painted white, and I've added some blue paint to the “life” Scrap Word for an ombre effect.  The Diamond Mesh would have to be one of my favourite Scrapmatts chipboard and the Black Scrap Words are perfect for adding those little extra subtitles to your projects.

Next up is a birthday card for a bubbly and cheerful little girl:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Nested Stars (CB5021), String Circles (CB5138), Black Silhouettes (CB1195), Assorted Words (CB6116), Sticks (CB5153), Burnt Cream Scrap Words (CB1238)

Scrapmatts Stencil: Circles (ST5006)

I applied some black texture paste through the Scrapmatts Circles Stencil on the yellow cardstock and layered the Nesting Star on top which I've embossed.  For the top chipboard layers, I’ve painted the sticks white, the stars strings and wish word with yellow paint.  The wish word is topped with traced edges and glossy accents for a shiny enameled finish.

I also added some glitter on top of the black balloon, because glitter dipped balloons are delightful :).  It’s all finished off with some flowers and it’s ready for the bubbly and cheery birthday girl.

Thanks for popping in and don’t forget to check out more Scrapmatts goodies HERE.

Cheers,

Boy verses Girl.....

Good morning how are you all, Rikki here today with some new pieces for Scrapmatts. This time for those with boys / men in our lives. I must say when I only had my boys, layouts where so easy to do, then I had little miss and I got nervous, I mean I had been scrapping 8 years with boy only layouts, how was I meant to do girly?

Then once I ''mastered'' the girly, it became increasingly hard to scrap boys, or maybe I was more aware of the availability of boy products verses girly ones..... Which made me think how did I do it before? Thank goodness for mixed media, I think that allows your get really creative when doing boy layouts.

My Second layout for the month is something a little bit different for my style, but I am obsessed with this finish!!! While Scrapmatts where over in Western Australia, I got to demo after the demo was able to have a little play out the back, I have been waiting to play with these new rust paints forever and this was a perfect opportunity to try them out on some chipboard.

Till next month, have a creative day.

Rikki xxxx

Its all Masculine!!!

Good morning and welcome

Fi here today sharing with you a masculine card as well as a 21st guest book.

Like many with boys I find it frustrating that you cannot find many masculine products, not that I mind creating my own, its just handy sometimes to reach for a packet.

It was my sons 21st Sunday, I had to whip myself into gear and create something masculine as my son does not do flowers!    I started pulling out the chipboard, embossing powders and micro beads along with any other metal findings and this is what I came up with.

The background paper is a gorgeous cardstock weight metal printed paper from Paper Loft.  This worked beautifully with the Scrapmatts chipboard that I have embossed with Tim Holtz aged marine, along with unknown brand of gold & black powders.

21st Card

21st Guest Book

I was realy please how good the chipboard comes up when its embossed!

Circles and more

Hi everyone, Lisette here with you today.

My first layout today is one of my favourite layouts that I have completed recently.  I entered this in a challenge competition a few months ago and the criteria was Circles - and I won which was fabulous, but even better I still love the layout.  Thanks to the beautiful Paula Perry, who gave me the inspiration to use the blue on the background. I sat across the table from her at retreat, such an inspiration.  It was also taken on our recent trip to Vietnam, at the beautiful resort where we were staying.

As you can see I have used lots of circles and lots of gorgeous Scrapmatts products.

CB5152 Circles 2 - painted green and cut in half

CB6105 Assorted Words 23 - this must be one of my favourite Scrapsmatts Chipboard sets.  Used you & me, XOX & fun, which I have inked.

ST5011 Stencil Circles - with texture paste

My next layouts also features a number of Scrapmatts products. I spent a couple of days in Singapore by myself on the way to Ho Chi Minh City where I was meeting hubby.  My first stop was the Gardens by the Bay.  Although I really don't like heights I went up the skywalk.  I was ok as long as I held onto the rail and didn't look down.

ST1032 Stencil Plus Signs - inked in various colours

CB6095 Assorted Words 18

CB1189 Scrapwords 01

CB5082 Leafspray 02

Hope you have found some inspiration in these layouts.
Why not pop over to the Scrapmatts shop HERE and get some Chipboard and Stencils for yourself.

Until November - wow can't believe how fast this year is going.
Happy Scrapping
