April inspiration with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Scrapmatts April inspirational post.
This time I made a layout and a card in a totally different styles just to show you how the similar Scrapmatts chipboards can be used on a vintage style layout and very modern and bright card.
So first  the layout.
I made the background with Stencil  Circles CT1001 and green embossing paste ( DCWV cardstocks and old Plaid paste that is still working as you can see).
The whole set of three String circles 04 CB5140 was added over the two photos painted with almost white acrylic paint (also the natural color was very similar after all). The third circle was added to keep four journalling words from Scrap words 25 CB1239 set.

The  title cluster was made over the film strip  chipboard (Film strips 05 CB1232). It was heat embossed with clear embossing ink and black embossing powder. Another piece of Scrap words (Scrap words 25 CB1239) was also added to this title cluster.
All String circles were connected with wire- as the connection for this pair on their wedding day and just to keep them in the right position . A bit of washi tape was added from both sides of those circles too- again, for the connection and  as it's pretty difficult to glue such a thin chipboard piece in a nice clean way.

Scrapmatts products used:
Film strips 05 CB1232
String circles 04 CB5140
Scrap words 25 CB1239
Stencil  Circles CT1001

And now my card for today: bright to pastel colors and background layers made with DCWV cardstock and Sizzix dies (both matting and holes  in the yellow layer).
The Scrapmatts chipboard window was covered with DecoArt crackle paste that can be seen even over this so delicate chipboard piece.
The flowers were painted with gel acrylic paints and you just need one single layer for the full shiny paint coverage.
Both chipboard oval frames are from the same set. The pink one was heat embossed with pastel pink embossing powder. The inner frame and the title word were heat embossed with black embossing powder.

I also added a small topper piece from the same Ornate frames set on the bottom to add some interest (pink embossed as the big frame).

As you can see this card is pretty flat and can be mailed in the regular envelope and still it has lots of layers and texture.
Scrapmatts products used to make this card:

Windows 04 CB5120
Flowers 12 CB1234
Ornate frames 05 CB1220
Assorted words 01 CB1134

Good Morning Everyone, Dunja from Germany here with my very first Scrapmatts blog post.
First let me say i'm more than happy to be part of this amazing team!!

You've seen lots of the other Design TeamM embers sharing their beauties of canvases and today I'ld like to show you mine. There will be a wall of DT Members when Scrapmatts is on a show. You have to stop by and see all our Canvases in real life :)
First i used Gesso and painted the Canvas. After that i've used the Scrapmatts Stencil ST1001 Circles on different placed on the board with white modeling paste. When it was dry i grab some color burst colors and water - indigo blue, lime green and turquoise -

In the left corner i placed the Scrapmatts CB6106 Assorted Words 24 and added a little flower on it.

Under my photo i put some layers of newspaper and corrugated cardboard, i painted them with some gesso too. Then i placed the Scrapmatts CB5141 Retro Squares 01. If you follow me on Instagram you've seen that i colored the chipboard with the color burst colors too. :)
I want to show you how 'happy' i am so i choose one of the words from
Scrapmatts CB1197 Scrapwords 05

Well you'll find some more words on my canvas, they can all be found on the Scrapmatts CB1189 Scrapwords 01. I enjoyed it a lot to play with their amazing chipboards.

Beautiful

Good morning Rikki here can you believe how quickly the month has flown by? I am here with a new layout today and doing what I love to do which is layering Scrapmatts Chipboard with a bit of fussy cutting thrown in there for good measure.

CB6113 Scrap Words 32 only come in black, I felt that it was too heavy for the layout, this is an easy problem to solve, grab some spray paint and lightly dust the chipboard, if you go too heavy you will lose the details in the words.

You know I cant go past my CB1229 Chains 02 perfect for boy and girl layouts.

CB5113 Heart Frames 10

CB6113 Scrap Words 32

And now some highlights from the last month...... which I share over at the Scrapmatt Ning site.....

CB6106 Assorted Words 24

CB5138 String Circles 02

CB6110 Ornate Frames

Have you joined? If not why dont you come and join us for plenty of inspiration from the team and the community.... why dont you share what you have done with your stash of Scrapmatt chipboard, I know that we would love to see what you have created.

Till next time, have a creative day.

A Little Bit of Me!

Hi & Welcome

Im first up this week and finally getting to share my Canvas.  Those that follow the Scrapmatts Blog know we all had the challenge of creating a canvas with our a picture of ourself.  Although I had a few hiccups on the way, like trying to find a photo of myself that wasn't photo bombed so I had to resort to taking some selfies.  At least I now have some updated photos of myself....lol

Discover, Remember & Imagine

Here is a slightly different angle so you can see more of the Number template that I have used.
I have also used CB4034 Floral Design 01, I heat embossed this to give it a big of a grungy look.

Kraft PlusChallenge

I loved the idea over at Kraft Plus just using black and white with the kraft and here is my creation for that.  Sticking with selfi themes I pinched this pic of my daughter from her instagram account.

I love these cute little lamps  they are so easily incorporated into your pages along with the many different assorted words that are available.  Below you can see how I've not only embossed the chippies, I have also placed a transparency clock behind one.

CB6105 Asoorted Words
CB6109 Lamps & Chains 11
CB4034 Foral Design 01

Thank you so much for joining me today, I hope this has given you some inspiration not only to maybe create a canvas of yourself but to remember we need more pics of ourselves as well.
Until next time!!!

Me!

Well that is an awkward title!

Lisette here and it's my turn to showcase the fabulous Scrapmatts products.

As you have already seen this month, Sofie gave all the new DT members a challenge - to create a canvas with a photo of themselves.  Once the shock of having to do that subsided, the next thought was Do I have a photo of just me?  Like most of us the answer was no.  Had to get my daughter to take some.

I am into paint and mists at the moment, and of course bright citrus colours - so that is what I used.
I used the dots stencil in yellow,  then painted the retro squares green and topped the colour up with green mist (I also used these as a stencil,) added some flowers and swirls with some words and I was done.

ST5006 - Dots
CB5142 - Retro squares 2
CB1004 - Flourishes
CB6103 - scrap words 21
and a flower charm

My eldest daughter has recently moved from home (Sydney) to Hobart.  She drove down so I went with her to Melbourne.  Had to get a selfie (red eyes and all) at Melbourne airport. It was definitely Tears for One!

ST1008 - Cracks
CB1241 - Scrap Words
CB6113 - Scrap Words
CB5141 - Retro Squares
and a bow charm

Hope you have found some inspiration in my canvas and layout with the fabulous Scrapmatts chipboard and stencils.

Happy scrapping

Lisette

He's All Boy by Amy

Hi There Scrapmatts Fans,

Amy with you today to share some crafty love using SCRAPMATTS designs.

For my designs today I used the CB1201 Men's Accessories Chipboard

Here is He's All Boy

Because I just loved the colour this chipboard comes in I kept it raw in my layout.
I usually love to emboss, paint and generally alter my chipboard but this was too perfect
I am a bit of a layer lady and usually use 3d adhesive to give a bit of dimension

This chipboard has so many pieces I just have to keep going and use up some extras.
Here is my Star Tag. I like to make little tags to store for cards and gifts

Once again I did keep these raw as I was using the same Echo Park collection.

So that's it my first blog post done and dusted. I am so glad to be able to share with you my crafty creations. Feel free to link Scrapmatts in when you create yours. We would love to see what you make

Stay Scrappy,
Amy xo
