Beach Babes

This summer will be filled with trips to the beach for our family ... its one of our favourite ways to spend a day - so as you might imagine I end up with millions of beach themed photos!

In order to try and keep my albums fresh I'm always trying to come up with ideas for beachy layouts that don't necessarily have the blue/sea shell/lighthouse etc themes central to them. Here are a couple i came up with recently...

Using this stencil allowed me to pull in the exact colours I was after on this layout.

... you can't go wrong with anything leafy and tropical on beach pages.

And of course some times you end up with beach photos that have none of the common costal colours in them just the sandy tones ... this is my attempt to work with that kind of image...

Sun sets and dark silhouettes work perfectly together!

Raw chipboard is the perfect base colour to blend with sandy scapes.

I love this template for sandy pages - because it fully reminds me of the little balls of sand that crabs roll onto the beach each day ( as a kid I would love to collect them, doing my best to pick them all up without breaking them lol)💛

Here I've used both black ink and a white pen to make a messy ball pattern on the page.

I hope there is some inspiration in that lot for your own beach pages xo

Cheers, Kel xo

Feeling Blue

HI all Well first of all, Merry Christmas, I all hope that you were all just a little bit spoilt this year. I have done 2 projects this month from the same paper pack. The first is a layout that I have used a Scrapmatts stencil and texture paste in the background. Then have added some Scrapmatts chipboard pieces as accents. Some I have painted blue, then finished with either waxes or glossy accents, other pieces I have left in the raw.
My second project is an altered frame. The frame was one that I had at home and I altered using painted, ultra thick embossing powder, a rubber stamp and some waxes. I have then fussy cut and layered lots of flowers and birtds on one side. The chipboard pieces have been simply painted with either blue or white paint and tucked in to finish of my project. The white chipboard pieces were branches on a chipboard tree that I have cut off and tucked in.
This is the stencil that I have used in the background of the scrapbook page:
Below are the chipboard pack that I have used:
I hope that you all have an amazing new year. See you in 2021. Heather

December Scrapmatts Creating with Kim

Hello...hello!

A very warm welcome to you all!

Wow! December is here and as I write this, Christmas is one week away!

Today I would like to share a Christmas layout, I have created...I have had this photo for just over 2 years and I knew I wanted to scrap it, but was waiting for the right papers to come along!

Scrapmatts has a fantastic range of Christmas chipboard, make sure you check it out

HERE

Now, let me show you my layout...

[A Very Merry Christmas]

For this layout I have used 2 Scrapmatts Stencils. I have added thick cardboard behind my photo and also under one of the paper strips, just to add in a little height & interest.
I also used plenty of fussy cut elements & some die cuts. I randomly added cardboard to the back of some of the elements, again to add interest.
Tucking in a little muslin/gauze here and there just to soften the layers

The second item I have created is a gift tag

It's not Christmas related...another baby gift tag!

There has been a run of them lately, lol

I kept this tag pretty simple, as I wanted the lace & stencil work to stand out

I hope you have enjoyed looking & reading about my creations and may I add it has been another amazing year creating for Andrew and Sof @ Scrapmatts

Before I go I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas

I hope all your beautiful people are happy and more importantly healthy

Let's hope 2021 is a major improvement on 2020

Love and Christmas Blessings to you all

Until Next Year

December Creating with Lizzy.

Hello there! Here we are in December.. What a ride this year has been.. For some, this has been a difficult year.. For me it sure has had its ups and downs..But there is something about Christmas that brings out something special I think!

I have two layout to share with you today for my Scrapmatts creating.. The photos I use on my layouts may not be the best focus or have people looking at the camera, but the moments are what makes a photo special I think.. My first layout is using a photo of my Granddaughter and her Daddy looking at some flowers growing in a pot.. Children have a wonderful way of getting us adults to slow down and look at the wonder of nature..

some closer views..

I have used these fabulous Triangle Chipboard for some interest and dimension.. I simply cut them in half so there isn't much that is hidden under my photo..

I love the bracket shape used for this word chipboard, and a closer view of the Diamond stencil I have used on the back ground.

I thought this title was perfect for this sweet moment of Father and daughter..

Love blooms here..

And here is a list of the Scrapmatts products I have used on my layout..

The second layout I would like to share is using a photo taken many years ago of my family at Christmas time.. I wanted to do a Christmas layout, and then I realized my stock of Christmas Chipboard has been deleted.. (insert sad face here..) Dont be like me and run out of Christmas chippies.. go to the store HERE FOR YOUR FESTIVE EMBELLISHMENTS!!!   However I did still create my Christmas layout with other goodies and I am happy with how it turned out!

Some closer views..

I usually like to add some interest to my back grounds by way of water color or mist and pop a bit of stencilling on.. I managed to take a photo of this back ground before I began covering it up with my papers and photo..

I used these Lanterns to embellish my page.. Simply painted in white with some red rhinestones and a little pop of glitter glue to add to the festive feel! And again I have popped some Chippie Stars on the back ground.. A pack of those Stars goes a long way!!

The String Circles with the stars were placed on the top and bottom of my photo and just put slightly under the corner.  The Lamp post was treated the same as the lanterns..

Another view of the back ground with the stencilling, and the fabulous Ornate Topper under my photo..

Merry Christmas..
