Memories Last Forever

Hello & Welcome

Just when so many of us thought we were getting some normality back in our lives,  we have another Covid-19 wave.  This is effecting so many people and my thoughts go out to everyone who is really struggling at the moment.

Today I'm up with a page that allows me to think about the wonderful time we had in Perth a few years back, was hoping to get there this Christmas again to see family.  However WA has locked its borders gain so who knows at this stage.

I have used all sorts of chipboard on this one, a large circle behind the photo which has been embossed with Tim Holtz speckled egg embossing glaze.

I have also used a couple of words on my page, one being from CB1269

The Twigs were coated with Finnabairs Sparks paint colour in Fairy Wings.

And I used the largest of the circles in this group.

Well I hope you enjoyed my share today and its given you some inspiration.

Happy Crafting

Some Zentangling

Good morning

This month I've had my art journal out, like a lot of us crafty people I've been doing some online classes (in between working full time), so when I saw this new Scrapmatts stencil I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it - Zentangling

Zentangle is a form of medatative doodling that has patterns, or tangles, put together to form a Zen-Tangle

These patterns are drawn on small pieces of paper called "tiles". It is non-representational and unplanned so you can focus on each stroke and not worry about the result

To start with I traced the stencil into my journal with a pencil, then I painted in the lines using black gesso and a fine paint brush.
The Zentangles are done using different size black felt tip pens

And because I love my flowers, I have softened the page by using and layering these flower stamps

The chipboard and some of the smaller sections of the stencil are coloured simply with a copper sharpy marker

Also to balance out my current working from home arrangement over the past 5 months, I have been participating in some monthly facebook challenges. This layout was done for a sketch challenge, and I had the perfect Scrapmatts chipboard to compliment it, so thought that I would share it with you

The film strip chipboard have been cut and layered to give extra dimension

The title has had a layer of purple wax over the top to help it stand out more on the page

I have to say, the photo is one that a friend of mine shared on facebook, and I love it, I can just sit and get lost in it

Can I encourage you, if you are a bit stuck for something to do, google "zentangle ideas", its super easy, you don't need to be able to draw, I can't. You can sit in front of the tv or your favourite movie and do it. You can do it in your journal, or on cardstock so you can use on a card, or a feature piece for a scrapbook page. You can add handwritten words into it, or if like me your handwriting is getting worse as we get older, grab yourself some Scrapmatts words to add to your project

Thanks for spending time with me again this month

July Creating

Hi everyone

Hope your are all safe and well.  Aren't we living in strange times!  There is an advantage of staying close to home - more time to be creative.

As you know I love making my own backgrounds with paints and mists.  I've taken the opportunity to learn some new techniques while things have been quieter.

It is really sad that we can't travel at the moment, but hopefully some more layouts from our trip to Borneo and George Town Penang, last year will help with the travel itch.

This first layout is us with some of the street art in George Town.  It is amazing!

I used a stencil with coloured texture past on the background and I just love these delicate chipboard pieces.

Products Used:-

Stencil 9024 - Bricks

CB6105 Assorted Words 23

CB1071 Hearts 04

CB5082 Leaf Spray 02

The next layout is Tim and I at sunset on Turtle Island.  We had just seen some baby turtles making their way from the next to the water - truly amazing and magical.

Products Used:-

Stencils 9064 Pattern

CB6105 Assorted Words 23

CB4069 Ornate Frames 26

CB1236 Scrap Words 22

I hope my layouts have given you some inspiration to create.  If you are back in lockdown - use your time wisely, CREATE!

Stay safe and well.

Fingers crossed that by next month things will have settled and we will have returned to whatever our new normal will be.

Until then,

Lisette

Love this View

Good morning how are you? I am here today to share with you two layouts using the same techniques finished off with the perfect Scrapmatts Chipboard Title.

Of course my favourite thing to do is fussy cutting !!! You should see I have a huge box full of it ready to go... but to give it a little lift I love adding some mixed media to the background.

Sometimes I do it before I stick the fussy cutting first and in other times like the the layout below I add it after with a brush.

CT062 Best Day Ever

Now this layout is the reverse of the above..... added first and also adding stamps and stencils in the background first, then adding the fussy cutting over the top.

July Creating with Lizzy.

Hello there! How is your day going? Great I hope!! and I hope the cooler weather means more inside crafting time!!!

I have a layout and two cards I would like to share with you today!

The layout is a page I created using a photo of my Grand daughter when she was only a few days old.. I could probably scrap this photo a million times I love it so much!! I will share some closer views and then my layout..

I usually look at the back ground paper and see if I can add anything to it, and for this layout I decided to add a few sweet butterflies and flowers with a stencil using a pink ink pad and dauber.

This sweet baby carriage was also just patted with a pink ink pad for a soft color that did not cover any of the chipboard details..

The bow was colored the same way as the carriage.. and the flourishes were painted white..

I used a little strip of lace under my photo to add some softness and a feminine touch!

Moments..

I framed my photo with the delicate and beautiful Ornate Frame and I used two ink pads of differing pinks to add a slightly darker pink around the outside of the frame..I like how it turned out!!

and here is a list of the Scrapmatts I have used on my layout..

I was feeling a bit creative and thought I would try and make a step card using the Step Card Template.  I also used the Montage Creations which make things so easy..It was a matter of cutting out the template and folding along the lines and lining the card base and then embellishing it..

This is the base cut out and folded as per instructions on the template.. and then it was time to cover the card and add embellishments..

This is the Montage Creation I used and it also is as easy as cutting out the picture and side and bottom strips and gluing onto the card base..

And here is my card..

And a closer look at the Scrapmatts Chipboard I used for embellishment..

Then I thought I would create a feminine card using the same method..
And this is my second card..

and a closer look at the beautiful rose chipboard..

I colored the rose chipboard with a gel pen..

and here is a list of the Scrapmatts I have used for my cards..

The male card..
