Girls go with pink!

Hello and welcome bloggers! Summer is approaching and I still have last years pictures to scrap!Today is my turn.......Geraldine here to share with you a layout I created using some stunning Scrapmatts chipboard.
I decided that I better get a move on and scrap some of last years summer pictures ( I might get to the many years before that sometime soon?) So today from me a more feminine and summer mixed medium layout with beautiful 'Girly' colours.
'Perfect'

Scrapmatts products used:
CB1152 Leaves 04
                   CB1023 Flowers 03
             CB6044 Layered Design 01
Other Products used:
Lindy's Stamp Gang Colour sprays, Manor House flowers, Prima Die and papers, Gesso.

I must say that the title is only somewhat correct - it was a 'perfect photo' in my eyes but having a 9yr old daughter means that in no way could she be possibly perfect and I'm sure those of you that have been through girls at that age would have to agree!

thanks for dropping by and see you again soon...G!

Celebrating special occasions with Scrapmatts

Hello again crafty people! I'm back after taking last month off to spend some time with my new baby. Harrison Donald Tomecek was born on 5.8.14 and has consumed my life since that time. People tell me it gets easier after 6-8 weeks, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Right now though I'm managing on very little sleep and even less craft time. I did manage to whip up a painters tray as a Fathers Day gift for my husband though.

I love the variety of painters trays available (circles, hearts, stamps) and they are such an easy way to do an OTP project. Just pop in a photo or two, maybe a quote and embellish away!

Scrapmatts used: CB1078 Gears 05; CB1189 Scrapwords 01 and CB6094 Mini Tray Stamp 01.

My other project for this month was originally intended to be one of last month's projects, however my waters broke while I was working on it! I love doing Christmas layouts and find the Kaisercraft ranges work perfectly with the huge variety of Scrapmatts Christmas pieces available.

I have only used two chipboard designs on this layout but they are two of my favourite Christmas ones. The ornaments were coloured with distress inks and the stars have been embossed with gold.

Scrapmatts used: CB6081 Christmas Stars 02, CB1059 Christmas Ornaments 07.

Getting a head start on Christmas...

With only around 15 weeks till Christmas I thought it would be a good idea to make a start on some Christmas cards.

Here are 4 Christmas cards i created using some awesome Scrapmatts Chipboard.

Joy
On this card, I embossed the chipboard word 'Joy' with black embossing powder.
The chipboard Christmas Ornament has been covered with coordinating pattern paper.

Scrapmatts Chipboard used...
CB1101 Words 21 Joy

Merry Christmas
On this card I used a ....frame and embossed it with 3 coats of silver embossing powder.
The 'Merry Christmas was embossed with black embossing powder and the mistletoe was inked in white and the berries were coloured using the black Gelly roller

I have used...
CB1104 Holly 01
CB6003 Card Matt 02

Peace, Love, Joy - Happy Christmas
This card was very easy to put together, I embossed all the snow flakes with silver embossing powder. I added a sticky pearl in the center of each snow flake and added the words.
The Ribbon banner was also embossed with silver embossing powder to keep with the colour combo.

I have used,

Peace on Earth
On this final card I have used black ink to cover the frame and the words 'Peace on Earth' I have used white ink to color the reindeer and added a sticky pearl for the nose.

Chipboard used to create this card...
CB1096 Reindeers 05

Im loving this colour combo for Christmas cards this year.

Spring, Fathers Day and a Scrapbooking Challenge

Don't you just love the spring time weather? Here in QLD it is pretty warm and sunny already although mornings can still be a little chilly. Even more exciting is spring time weddings as I have a couple to go to in the next month.

Although creative time has been sparse for me lately with a month long uni prac and a mountain of assignments taking up all my time. But the end is near and I have big plans so hopefully next month will be full of new things to share.

This month the Scrapmatts team got to join in a challenge over at Stuck! Sketches, and you can too. Entries close 29 September. Here is the sketch for the challenge:

And my layout, which I changed up a bit using only a single photo, as I was having printer issues at the time:

And here are a couple of Fathers Day cards:

And a baby shower card:

A little bit of this and a bit of that...

I had a bit of fun with my Scrapmatts playing this month - a sketch challenge, off the page and an art journal. It really was a bit of this and a bit of that! However it was messy and a lot of fun :)
You would have seen in the DT posts this month that we are playing along with Stuck?! Sketches and you can play along too and be in the running to win one of 6 fabulous prizes including a $50 gift certificate to Scrapmatts! Just upload your creation using the fabulous September sketch to Stuck?! Sketches by the 29th September (follow the instructions on this blog post to be in the running). Here is the sketch:
This is my layout using the sketch as inspiration using the gorgeous new String Circles:
Using Scrapmatts chipboard String Circles CB5114, Roses CB1202, Scrapwords 05 CB1197 and Assorted Words 15 CB6087. Scrapmatts Charms Filigree Flowers #7 CH014 and Clock from Assorted Charms #1 CH031

We recently moved house and that meant a huge clean up of my Scrap area and I discovered heaps of things I had put in 'safe' places and forgotten about (whooooops!). One of my discoveries was the beautiful Memory Cabinet which was so much fun to create with:

Using Scrapmatts chipboard Memory Cabinet CB7011, Alphabet Flags CB6084, Layered Bridge CB1177, Bird Bath (small bird) CB1203 and Scrapwords CB1198. Scrapmatts charms Filigree Flower #7 CH014 and Filigree Flower #16 CH076

There is nothing like some messy playing in an art journal to put a smile on your face :) Isabella has had a fascination with going to Paris for as long as I can remember!
Using Scrapmatts chipboard Clock CB1107, Leaf Spray CB4063, Scrapwords CB1198 and Scrapwords 09 CB1206. Scrapmatts charms Filigree Flower #1 CH002 and Rulers CH068
The Leaf Spray has been used with a layer of Gesso and then mists over the top - it helps add texture to your page:

I hope all the Dad's had a fabulous Father's Day today :) Happy creating with all of those fabulous photos I'm sure you all took today!
