Mixing the Old and the New

Hi, Fi here today sharing a masculine layout using both older items in my stash and combine them with new ones.

Snapped this picture of my hubby and our furbabies at our first camp site when we did a trip across to WA a couple of years ago.  Typical Labradors have to share your food and they never have personal space issues.

I have used a Scrapmatts gum leaves chippies these are great for outdoor pages.

To colour the gum leaves and nuts I have them using Tim Holtz distress inks.

You will find these leaves right here Scrapmatts

Hope you've enjoyed my share, happy crafting.

July Creating with Lizzy

Hello there! Here we are in the second half of the year.. Are the days going as fast for you? The weeks seem to fly by and here I am back on the Scrapmatts Blog again to share with you what I have been creating using some fabulous Scrapmatts products.

As we are halfway through our aussie winter, I thought I would warm us up with a beachy layout..  There are quite a few new releases for our Beachy creating in the SCRAPMATTS ONLINE STORE HERE!!!  And I had some fun with  new stencils on my layout..  and I remembered to take some photos of my back ground as I created...

I used an old piece of sponge and watercolor paint and I dabbed the color over the stencil for the base for my layout.

This stencil reminds me of the ripples of the water in the rock pools along the beach..

Then I did some stamping and added some splats in a different blue to the back ground.

Then I used another beachy stencil with texture paste and added some fabulous texture. How cool are the shells!!?

When the texture paste was dry I embellished my layout with chipboard and fussy cut flowers around my photo.

I also cut some old netting to add to the texture..

I left the chipboard netting and shells in the raw state and popped them under the flowers. Feel free to cut the chipboard into the pieces you want for your embellishing.

The shells have such great detail!! I love em!

and my layout..

And there is only word I could use to title this page and that is paradise... sigh.. dreaming of those beach days!! At least we can remember those moments and put them on a page to cherish.

and here is a list of the Scrapmatts products I have used..

ST5071 Stencil Waves

ST5072 Stencil Shells

CB6127 Shells 03

CB5168 Net 01

CB6087 Assorted Words 15

So remember to take those photos of your holiday moments and then you can create a holiday layout to keep!

Thanks for dropping on by today. Remember you can check out the ONLINE STORE Here for all your Scrapmatts goodies.. Take care and Happy Scrapmatting!

FAMILY MOMENTS

Welcome again to all as I share with you my recent pages using the amazing Scrapmatts products.

I have used some great family pics for these pages and the first I would like to share with you is of my nephew Chris and his handsome young son Lachlan. They have an amazing bond and he is the apple of his Dads eye.

I created this page at a Scrapbooking day in which the very talented Rachael Funnell taught. She very generously gave me permission to use her design, with some Scrapmatts products, for my DT layout for this month.

I used the Triangle chipboard pieces that perfectly matched the timber in the photo and by inking it in a color very similar it looks fantastic. The number stencil in the background adds another level of texture to the page.

My second page is of my Grandmother or as I used to call her, Nanna, with her husband Edward. I'm not too sure of the story but she was 40 and he was 27 at the time but unfortunately he died 2 years later. The photograph was always at my family home but not in a frame, in the folder that would have been given when it was taken.

I used lots of products on this page and kept most of it plain except for the cute little candelabra and rose stem. On the candelabra I used black, gold and white pens and paint while on the rose stem I used colored pens. Behind the lamp post I placed a piece of white paper to imitate that is alight.
