Titles Made Easy With Inks 💥

Hi All,
well, I'm back again this month with more layouts made using inspiring
products from Scrapmatts' incredible range of beautiful products.

This first fun layout is brought to life by the fantastic title
- which was coloured using a very simple technique of layering inks.

Starting with a white sprayed chipboard title, creating a variegated colour look is as easy as choosing two tones of whatever colour you like and then adding the lighter tint to the top of the title, moving towards the centre.

Repeat this process with the darker tone coming up from the base
until they blend in the middle of the title.

To create the sparkle at the top and bottom of this title I then touched up both
areas with some copper ink.

I did the same thing with the two elements of the sun chipboard as well.

Using the same coloured inks and blending them randomly, I then added the pattern from this stencil.
The pattern helped to lift the layout by tying together the title and flowers ...
Scrapmatts stencils are fabulous for this little design trick!

For this second layout, I decided to just go with a plain title as the patterned papers were
so dynamic already.... but I did use another stencil just to pull the different papers in the background together and give the whole layout a sense of cohesiveness.
💛

This cute chipboard title was easily covered with some mat blue ink.

I used the A4 size stencil from this set and a white gel pen to create a pattern
that blended with the white pattern on the dark blue papers of my layout.

This technique works really well if you are wanting to create some subtle background patterns.
Gesso or white paint would have been a lot more solid and/or opaque so this gives us a
lovely muted pattern that looks particularly good with a shabby chic design.

To finish with I added more of these ready-to-use scrap words chipboards to the page.

These make a wonderful alternative to journaling.

And to lift the whole layout I also scattered clusters of these
4,5 & 6mm Champagne Acrylic Craft Gems around the page.

And that's it from me this time, I hope you have got a few good ideas from this
post that you continue to enjoy your own crafty journey.

Cheers,
Kel xo

Let the Summer fun begin 🌞

And just like that Christmas is done and dusted
and the summer shenanigans begin!
Summer holidays for us mean many days spent at the beach and I have been hoarding beautiful beachy papers and embellishments for months in preparation for this season, so let's jump straight in with this first layout.

For my title I simply strung together some of these gorgeous word chipboards and inked them with the same teal I used on the background stencilling.

I also added in a few of these delicate twigs and grasses - which looked fabulous in their raw state so there was no colouring needed.

For the background I used a couple of different stencils - the first was this beautiful waves pattern that I gently pushed in around sections of the background.

And then - just to add some interest, I used the fish from this versatile little stencil to pull in the cute element into my background.

After inking the bubbles I covered the dots with glue that dries clear to give it a bit of a watery look.

And of course, no layout is complete with scattering some of these gems around the page!

With my leftover papers from the layout I was also able to create a fun birthday card - one that will hopefully suite a male recipient (I find guy cards the eternal challenge).

The chipboard for this birthday card was from my favourite pack of chipboards - I love both the font and size of these chippies - they are PERFECT for cards!

To really bring that background to life I painted inside the pattern of this 'Mermaid Scales' stencil with Crystalina Kindy Glitz and after that dried, went over the outline roughly with a white pen ...
the effect is just a little bit of underwater magic!

And that is just the start of the summer beachy projects.
I look forward to sharing more with you next month.

Cheers, Kel xo

'Tis the season once again 🎄

Ok creative types, this is it - the onslaught of all things Christmas 😂

Behind the picture you can see some lovely music sheet paper - you can order sheets of these from scrapmatts along with all your favourite chipboards 💚

In the end thought, the hero of this layout is the gorgeous string circle and holly combo...

It comes on this generous A4 sheet:

I also got the cute word 'love' from the same set, then I inked them with gold and tied it all together by inking gold stars on the back ground of the sheet as well.

Then to finish off I grabbed some glimmer pearl liquid that I had in my stash and used this beautiful  stencil to guide some simple background flourishes around the edges of my embellishments.

For this next layout I managed to dig up some good old fashioned holographic star confetti
pieces to help bling it up a bit.

Love how this one turned out with more of those montage creations music sheets off-setting my very special family photo ... not to mention a few of those wonderful scrap words scattered about the place to really set the mood.

And of course this fabulous chipboard title ...
you can't beat a good chipboard title that suits your theme to a tee! 👌

This time I used this flourish background stencil and ink to bring the red into the background as a kind of frame for the main action in the centre of the page.

And last, but not least I have a special little Christmas card to share...

This card was made using the String Circles Holly chipboards and a beautiful reindeer chippie...

I got the reindeer chipboards in the white mist finish and just covered it with
a layer of crystalina kindy glitz.

And of course the montage creations background music sheets were perfect for this card...

Along with some more of the scrap words inked with red:

And thats it from me for another month ... thanks for popping by for a visit.

Cheers,
Kel
