Love & Friendship by Rhonda

Well, 2017 is in full swing and these challenges are enticing
the creativeness from within.
As a result I have a layout and a canvas to share with you all.
Being Autumn here and Spring in the north what better
theme to follow than something with flowers.

The "Garden of Love"

Dropping some texture onto the canvas is always a great place to start
and the creation of a wall for the background using the Bricks stencil
was a perfect match for what I envisaged.
Usually I would use modelling paste but I recently acquired some
Deco Art products and among the goodness was some
white crackle paste and what better to try it on than some bricks.

The background colour was created by adding Deco Art's
Media Shimmer Mister to the crackle paste.
Additional colours from the same products were added by mixing
the primaries to get the shades of green.

The central piece was constructed from various layers of distressed
patterned papers, cardstock, calico and muslin.
Atop this I placed a Large Ornate Frame to showcase the flowers
that were to be the focal point.
The Ornate Frame was embossed to give an aged look as were
the butterflies, central flowers, leaves and hearts.
Using the same product on all of these chipboards created both
texture and colour to deliver unity across the canvas.

Little clusters of flowers were distributed, some plain and some sprayed
to compliment the other layers.
The old metal heart along with the numerous smaller chipboard hearts
brings both garden and love together.

Friendship
Is Spending Fun Times Together

Needing an excuse to use some more crackle paste I wasted no time
in setting to work on a layout.

So, straight up I placed some patterned paper on some cardstock
and then set to it with some yummy crackle paste coloured with
complimentary Shimmer Mister Turquoise.
Atop the piece I placed some sneaky metallic silver sticks stencils to
simulate some abstraction of clouds.

Applied nice and thick gave a heavy crackle.

Under the photo I again took advantage of utilising some
packaging scraps to create some depth and adding the String Circles
and netting over them tied all elements together.

Some of the flowers were coloured with the same
Shimmer Mister as the crackle.
The chipboard Gears 01 & 05 and the bottle tops were enhanced
with a little rusting powder.

Chipboard leaf spray flourishes throughout the layout always
are a great addition to fill in blank spaces and in this case I chose
them as I thought they contributed to the outdoors type theme.

Here we can see the effectiveness of the chains as they both fill
in the spaces and compliment the netting by giving an outdoors
and somewhat playful feel.

The underside of the glass pebbles were simply painted with acrylic

After sifting through my stash of Scrap Words this title just jumped out at me and locating it near the ephemera background paper (shhh this was actually some packaging) seemed a good fit.
