Remember and Baby Girl - Lauren Tomecek

Hello chipboard fans! I have two layouts to share today. My first is a family photo from my sister's wedding a few years ago. I wanted to go with a bit of a rustic feel with gold bling highlights. The new CB4069 Ornate Frames 26 set was perfect for my flourishes and stunning frame. I've embossed the frame with gold embossing powder but left the smaller background flourishes raw.

The chain pieces (CB6109 Lamps 11 and CB1229 Chains 02) were all embossed in chocolate-coloured powder. I love the effect of the gold texture paste through the ST9006-A5 stencil in the background. My title comes from the CB6112 Scrap Words 31 pack.

The second layout I'm sharing today was created for the CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration challenge for July, which Scrapmatts is sponsoring. I have used the same background stencil (ST9006-A5) only this time painted watercolours through it for a more subtle effect. My flourishes are actually from CB2003 Page Borders 02, but I've cut it into two quarter pieces to use either side of my photo.

I had been wanting to use the gorgeous rocking horse chipboard piece (CB6057 Rocking Horses 01) for such a long time, so was very excited to finally get the chance. I have left the horse itself raw and painted the darker brown parts with a watercolour pencil, then used a gold pen to highlight the metallic details. The title comes from the CB5135 Baby Boy 01 set. I have scattered words across from page from CB1191 Scrap Words 03.

If you're interested in playing along with the CSI challenge, the Case File is below and it's open all month. I'd love to see what you create.

Welcome to April with 'Scrapmatts'

A warm welcome to the new month of April!

The start of a new month of inspiration with the amazing
'Scrapmatts Design Team'

Kim here, to share with you a couple of my latest creations!

I have made a special card & matching tag.

I've kept the colours quite neutral so they can be used for either a baby boy or girl.

I loved these rocking horses as soon as laid eyes on them & teamed with the
assorted word arrows, I think they are a divine match!
I have also used Prima flowers, lace & satin seam binding.
The paper is from 'American Crafts'

Simply Precious by Kim

Hello dear friends of Scrapmatts!!!

Kim here to share with you a very special creation.
A few weeks back I was invited to the baby shower of my darling niece.
I decided to pull out my supplies out & create her a card......so much nicer than
store brought, (don't you think!?)

I looked through my Scrapmatts goodies & found the perfect chipboard!
I added a few other elements and in no time I had the perfect card
soft & pretty
(as my niece was having a little girl)

 {Baby Shower Card}
The Scrapmatts chipboard gave my card that awesome touch & my Niece
totally loved the card, too!
She said she might even frame it for her precious bundles room!

I have used Scrapmatts
in white mist.
(very versatile pieces)

Scrapmatts have the Baby Boy pack & they also have a Baby Girl pack...
[click below to check them out.]
so again Scrapmatts prove how versatile & economic they are.

I do hope you like my creation, be sure to pop back soon to check out what the other talented members of Scrapmatts DT have been creating

Love & Hugs

Kim

All About Harrison - Lauren Tomecek

This is one of my favourite photographs of Harrison. I just snapped it while he was playing on the lawn next to me as I hung out the washing but his smile is perfect and the colours really pop. I couldn't wait to be able to scrapbook it and I'm really happy with the end result of this layout.

I used the new string circles (CB5139 String Circles 03) in the background and the 'man' part of the title from CB4055 Assorted Words 09.

My second layout also features some photos of Harrison, this time from his newborn photo shoot. I have kept the embellishments relatively light as I wanted the focus to be on the beautiful photos. There is some chipboard from CB5135 Baby Boy 01, CB1166 Cupids 01, CB5101 Flags 02 and CB1200 Scrap Words 08.
