Titles Made Easy With Inks 💥

Hi All,
well, I'm back again this month with more layouts made using inspiring
products from Scrapmatts' incredible range of beautiful products.

This first fun layout is brought to life by the fantastic title
- which was coloured using a very simple technique of layering inks.

Starting with a white sprayed chipboard title, creating a variegated colour look is as easy as choosing two tones of whatever colour you like and then adding the lighter tint to the top of the title, moving towards the centre.

Repeat this process with the darker tone coming up from the base
until they blend in the middle of the title.

To create the sparkle at the top and bottom of this title I then touched up both
areas with some copper ink.

I did the same thing with the two elements of the sun chipboard as well.

Using the same coloured inks and blending them randomly, I then added the pattern from this stencil.
The pattern helped to lift the layout by tying together the title and flowers ...
Scrapmatts stencils are fabulous for this little design trick!

For this second layout, I decided to just go with a plain title as the patterned papers were
so dynamic already.... but I did use another stencil just to pull the different papers in the background together and give the whole layout a sense of cohesiveness.
💛

This cute chipboard title was easily covered with some mat blue ink.

I used the A4 size stencil from this set and a white gel pen to create a pattern
that blended with the white pattern on the dark blue papers of my layout.

This technique works really well if you are wanting to create some subtle background patterns.
Gesso or white paint would have been a lot more solid and/or opaque so this gives us a
lovely muted pattern that looks particularly good with a shabby chic design.

To finish with I added more of these ready-to-use scrap words chipboards to the page.

These make a wonderful alternative to journaling.

And to lift the whole layout I also scattered clusters of these
4,5 & 6mm Champagne Acrylic Craft Gems around the page.

And that's it from me this time, I hope you have got a few good ideas from this
post that you continue to enjoy your own crafty journey.

Cheers,
Kel xo

Inspire

Hello, today I'm sharing some layouts and a card I made recently using a heap of Scrapmatts chipboards and the Mintay paper collection 'Graceful'.  Great products and beautiful papers make creating easy and I'm thrilled to be able to share a few ideas here with you as inspiration

On top of all the big titles, journaling tabs and cool feature chipboards I love to add in little sneaky extras like one of these string words - I adore the way you can easily make them a coordinating colour and slip them in with your page elements, they add feeling so easily and fit in effortlessly...
I always keep a pack handy for this very purpose. 💕

I’ve been up to my usual tricks here too - adding in easy journaling with these fabulous word tiles and colouring a hurricane lamp to coordinate with the lamp embellishments in the paper range

For titles at the moment -  I'm working my way through this HUGE pack of chippy words - they are great value and the perfect size for page titles. I simply hit this one with some glossy pink spray paint - so easy it feels a bit like cheating! lol 😜

I was a tad over fussy cutting by the time I got to this second layout, so instead of relying on the papers to carry the embellishment burden, I added a heap of chipboard elements - making the process much easier!

There were a lot of dark patches in my photo on this layout so I used black embellishments to balance all the light ones in the paper collection and tie the two together.

This lovely circle element was easy to dress up with some simple white shines added.

And I couldn't resist pulling in some colour to the background with this heart stencil and of course some simple silhouettes of flying birds. 💚

... and I'm still using up my chipboard titles ...
- this time they are decorated with ink using a variegated colouring scheme.

And last but not least - I have a simple card to share ...

Left over papers from pages are my favourite bits and pieces to use for card making
and a few special chipboards makes this an easy process too!

These simple small 'Happy Birthday' chipboards are a fantastic size for cards
- I coloured these with a black sharpie.

There is no real reason why I chose this street lamp to go on this other than that I love them - they are my go to embellishment for any ladies card - along with butterflies and rhinestones of course! 🦋

And this beautiful pack of journaling words was perfect for saying just what I wanted on this card.

Thanks for stopping by the blog to have a look. I hope you found some inspiration and I look forward to sharing more creative projects in the future.

If there are any techniques or elements you would like to see shared in the future, please leave a comment below, as the team and I love a good challenge! 👌

Cheers,
Kel

March Layouts with Christine

Good day.  Scrapmatts is one of the major sponsors and March guest designers for CSI - Colors, Inspirations and Stories challenge blog.  And now I get to share with you my take on their two current case files.

First up is Case File #225:

This is also a major case file which includes a sketch courtesy of The Nifty Pixel as pictured above.  My five evidences are: buntings, washi tape, things that fly, circles and wood.  My testimony is handwriting on the background, and I’ve stuck to the sketch using one feature photo.  Here’s how I solved the case:

Scrapmatts chipboards: Birds (CB5045), Floral Spray (CB5045), Assorted Words (CB6115)

Scrapmatts stencils: Honeycomb (ST9002-A4), Bubbles (ST5001), Halftone Circles (ST5006), Circles (ST5043)

I've painted most of the chipboards white and some with the green shade from the case.  I've applied paste, mist, and paint on varying stencils to build the base of the background.

Next up is Case File #226:

My evidences are strings, animal, plants, and transparent stuff.  I've included all the colors of the case and my testimony is my journaling which is written at the back of my layout:   It makes me happy scrapping and looking back at the moments when you're growing up to be a girly girl.  This is the first time you tried on some bubblegum lip gloss that you got from a party loot bag, and boy oh boy you loved it!

Here's my layout:

Scrapmatts Chipboards: Circle Mesh (CB5130), Assorted Words (CB6116), Cats (CB1014), Leaf Spray (CB5166), Scrap Words (CB1238)

The #look at me chipboards are given a good coat of pink glimmer mist to match the case colors, and the rest of the chipboards have been painted white.

I had fun creating these layouts and it got the seal of approval from both of my girls.  Thanks for popping in and don't forget to check out the CSI case files here.  There's amazing prizes to be won, including Scrapmatts goodies.

Cheers,
