"Do I Look Like Him?"

 Do I Look Like Him?

Wow it's August already!!!
This month has been a treat. I was able to spend a fantastic weekend with the beautiful Sofie and Andrew at the Craft Fair in Perth on the weekend of 3rd - 5th August.

I was able to spend time with the very talented Rikki and teach some card classes.

So this month I have a layout to share with you featuring Scrapmatts amazing chipboard.

For this layout I have used the Denim and Friends papers from Maja.
The photo is of my husband and his father. His dad had a stroke back in March and my husband hadn't seen him in 15yrs. So I hadn't met him or seen him before. So recently he has reconciled with his dad and we have spent some time with him. I had always thought he looked like his mum, man was I mistaken!!! He is definitely a chip off the old block!!!

Welcome Aboard

Hello and welcome again.
Today I would like to share with you my take on the CSI Challenge Case 258. for July.
Submissions need to be submitted by July 31st.

 CSI Challenge Case 258

My inspiration for this challenge was this clock I found on one of my shopping trips to the Salvo's.

I was inspired by the Scene.
This clock reminded me of our recent cruise.

I decided to turn it into a photo frame.
The photo matt is actually a sick bag from my scavenger hunt for our scrapbook challenges.
It is attached in place with the nautical paperclips, so that it can be removed and then used as a clock.

All the chipboard used is available from Scrapmatts.
I have also used some twine, shells and starfish (old hanger) and some art stones.

LOVE & LAUGH BUTTERFLY CANVAS

                          LOVE & LAUGH BUTTERFLY CANVAS

Good Morning Followers. Jodie here with  my DT post for June.
This is my love & laugh butterfly canvas.
It features lots of amazing chipboard from Scrapmatts.

To start the canvas, I have used this beautiful tissue paper that I recently purchased at the Perth Craft Fair.
I love the Parisian look.

Base of canvas using tissue paper.

I used clear gesso to apply the tissue paper and to seal it.
To create the washed out effect, I diluted dylusions paint and painted the wash over the tissue paper.
The collage stamp is from Darkroom Door and the postcard is from a Kaisercraft collection and stamped with pinecone ink.

This butterfly is from the CB1015 Butterflies Chipboard.
The Hexagon chipboard CB5122 is coloured with the gold ink.
I have embossed it with Stampendous Aged Marine Embossing Powder.
The feathers charms are from Toko Central in Bali.

This gorgeous little leaves are from the CB5177 Wildflowers.
I have inked with the Brilliance Gold Ink Pad
Flowers are from 49 and Market.

This cute love, laugh and hearts are from the CB6117 Assorted Words Chipboard.
I have embossed with Gold embossing powder.

To finish off the canvas I added some cheesecloth and black sewing twine.
Some pearl bling for the butterfly centres and coloured with Caramel Alcohol Ink Marker.

Finished canvas.

Hello Adventure Nautical Layouts

Hello Adventure
Nautical Layouts

Good Morning and welcome to May
Today I will be sharing with you layouts I have completed from my recent trip to the South Pacific with Melissa Kennedy.

This layout was inspired by a Bingo challenge that Melissa handed out, as well as a scavenger hunt challenge.
Items collected are shells from the beach, embellishment bought onboard (chipboard) and picture of the ship (in the background of the photo).

I have used the beautiful BEACH SHACK COLLECTION from Kaisercraft.

I have used the CB1221 Nautical Designs from Scrapmatts.
I have also used the very new - CT008 - Hello Adventure Word

I decided not to colour the chipboard, as I like the look of the natural colour with this layout.
This is the chipboard used on the layout. CB1221.

This layout is the second one I have created using the left overs from the Beach Shack Collection.

This layout is for our scavenger hunt challenge.
On this one the items used are the shore collection guide, shells found on the beach and a doily.

Chipboard used on this layout again is the CB1221 and the word is a new product CT009.

If you wish to purchase any of this chippy head over to the website.

Live Love Laugh - Journal Art Scrapmatts

Live Laugh Love

Hello All
Welcome to March

I am sharing with you today an art journal page that I created using Scrapmatts stencils and chipboard.

As I have been looking after my mother in law (dementia) the last month, as my father in law has had a stroke and is still recovering in hospital, I have been very time poor.

So while I have been staying at Mum's house, I wanted to keep being creative. This is where I find that having my art journal allows me to do this. Keeps those creative juices flowing.
Scrapmatts products make it even easier to create as they have so many stencils available.

Here is my finished page.

To create the base I used Distress Oxides and water to create a watercolour effect.
Then I used the ST5046 Lattice stencil,and ST9012 Patterns stencil with embossing paste to create texture.

ST5046

ST9012

I inked through the ST9027 Damask stencil with Wilted Violet Distress Ink to create the damask shape.

I have used the CB4050 Assorted Words for the quote.

I have left them raw and just added a black line with my fine liner pen around the outside of the letters and the page.

CB4050

To finish off the page I have splattered some ink using Kaisercraft Mists.

Thanks for stopping by.

Til next time
