LOVE ALWAYS Layout and a Card..

Hello there! Here we are getting into the New Year so quickly...  can the days slow down already!!! I trust things are going well at your place..

I have a layout and a card that I made with the papers I used for the layout.. Sometimes it is a good way to use leftover paper bits from a layout by making a card..  but first.... the layout..

My daughter got a kitten for her birthday and it was love at first sight for her.. So I created a layout using photos of them together!!

Some closer views first..

I have embossed the pretty Floral Frame with blue and added a little white around the petals, and a little pop of bling in the centre.

I love the filmstrips and just a little secret way of making them go further, cut them into sections so none is hidden under your photo..

More of that pretty Floral Frame, and I also cut this in half to suit my page so none of it was hidden under my photo.. Can you see a hint of stencilling using the bling stencil??

I embossed the word "always" in gold and it looks so good!!

and my page..

Love Always..

And here is a list of SCRAPMATTS PRODUCTS I have used on my layout..

ST1037 Stencil Bling

CB6012 Floral Frame 01

CB2002 Large Filmstrips 01

CB6116 Assorted Words 29

CB1070 Hearts 03

And I had a little piece of Scrapmatts Triangle chipboard leftover and I used that as a foundation for a card using some leftover papers from the layout..

I embossed this in the same blue embossing powder I used for the chipboard in my layout and placed this on the card and built up the layers on it using flowers and die cut leaves until I was happy..

I also used some words to make the sentiment..  I never throw out the little bits of chipboard as they can be used for cards or just popped on a page for some extra embellishment.

These are the Scrapmatts I used on my card.

CB5159 Triangles 04

CB6102 Assorted Words 21

Mixed Media with Scrapmatts!

Hello there! Here we are in June!! The year is flying by! I hope you are getting some creative time!!

I have been having a bit of fun with mixed media which is simply using a variety of media to create art.. or in our case, our scrapbooking!!

I got a scrap piece of paper and began to use some modelling paste and some fabulous stencils..

Then I covered the whole piece of paper with gesso.. This makes the paper able to hold the wet mediums which I used next..

When that was completely dry I sprayed it with mist..
When that was completely dry I mat this on some black cardstock and then mat that onto my card face..
I added some more stencilling, some mesh, some old die cuts left over from another project, my chipboard pieces which were painted in black gesso , added some flowers and I created a fabulous card!!

These are the Scrapmatts products I have used for my card...

ST1032 Stencil Plus Signs

I can never have enough of the cogs, just love them!! Painted with brown paint and dabbed with gesso..
I have used the 3 sizes of the Hexagon stencil on the back ground..

May is the month that we give thanks to that special woman in our life, the one who gave us life, guided us in our formative years and is often the best friend we will ever know.....
OUR MUMS!
Here is a card I have made

I have teamed up the Brick stencil with some sweet Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers & the uber cute
elements from the Flannel Flowers chipboard pack and I have also used the negative from Assorted Words 21, for my card.
(Making best use of your purchases).

The next project I would like to share is a layout I created for the

The challenge was to use paint swatches on your layout!
I hadn't participated in a challenge for quite some time, and I really enjoyed it!
I scrapped my little Grandson 'Angus'
I loved this photo of him in all his thriving squishiness!!!
It just had to be scrapped!

[LOVE]

Again I have used a combination of chipboard & stencils

Look at those arms!!!
Using paint swatches is an awesome idea, so next time your at your local hardware, check then out!

My Girls: By Rhonda

Hello again all my lovelies, I have dragged myself from the craft room to this confounded device to again bring you three of my creations and YEP...Plenty of our awesome Scrapmatts goodies are again the feature.

No prizes up for grabs to guess that my family feature in both pieces.
Another canvas is offered up for my first with my daughter front and centre followed by a Scrapmatts Federation Tray highlighting the beauty of my son's partner accompanied by her birthday card.

Family Means Love

To start with I covered the 8 x 10 canvas panel with a sheet of Blue Fern's Autumn Anthology. Following this I used texture paste laid over the ST5045 Circle Stencil and once dried coloured it with a variety of LSG's.

I added more layers of the same paper to the sides under the CB5010 Ornate Frame 10 and did the same with the paper doily at the top.
On the image above right you can see the script stamp I used...This stamp is only available from Scrapmatts shows.

The frame colour was enhanced with Dew Drop Turquoise Gem, the photo was added and then dressed with some flowers and flourishes.

The flower at the top right was framed by the inner section of CB5138 String Circles 02 whilst CB2003 Page Borders 02 was cut in half and utilised in two positions and coloured to match the theme.

CB6113 Scrap Words 32 - "Family Means Love" stood out as the logical title.
Just the butterfly and the heart from CB6102 Assorted Words 21 were used as small embellishments as final touches apart for a few flowers.

Naomi's Birthday Frame

The ever lovely Sofie gave me this awesome Federation Tray as a challenge whilst Scrapmatts were in Perth...Challenge Accepted...

The CB7013 Australian Federation Tray 05 was first given 4 coats of white MDF spray paint then as a background to the photo I chose a patterned paper that complimented it. I was very happy that even though many coats of paint were used that all the fine details were still highlighted.

Flanking the sides and top was a collection of 49 and Market flowers in multi-blue. I could have gone mad with these flowers but covering up Andrew's stunning fretwork would have been sinful.
I really do hope I have done the Federation piece justice.

........................................................................

And no birthday is complete without a card so I knocked up a matching card from the left over paper & flowers whilst adding that all important touch that is always within my reach from my Scrapmatts Chipboard Stash that helps so much with my creativity.

The bodice I used from my stash and give it a bit of life with some blue colour.
To tie the 2 girls projects together I used a small heart & butterfly from CB6102 Assorted Words 21 on each.
