While you read this I will be in beautiful Bali for a well deserved family holiday!  Just a tad excited!

Last weekend I finally had a chance to get creative at a scrapbooking retreat.  Love these weekends we have 3 times a year.  Most of the girls who attend have been done so for the past 7 or 8 years!!!

My first layout was for the February Scrap The Girls Challenge.  Loved using bright colours and the flowers of course!

Here is my second layout for today.  This one is for January's Kraft+ Challenge - all about books.
I didn't really have a photo that I could relate to books, but I did have some Charms Creations embelishments made with book paper!

This was a very special moment at Christmas where all the Cousins sat and played cards!

Beautiful Moments Layout With Novita Ferris

Hello everyone

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day with your family and loved ones and welcome back to the Scrapmatts blog where I would like to sharing my first layout for this year. 

I was inspired by this beautiful photo of me and my son that was taken 4 years ago while on holiday in Melbourne and I wanted create something beautiful that reminds me of our beautiful moments.

For this creation I have used Scrapmatts gorgeous chipboard flourishes, sentiments and a sheet of hollow brickwork.

Scrapping with Heather

Since my last post I was lucky enough to attend Creativation in Phoenix America. So many new products and ideas!!

I have also been challenged to find the Joy in scrapbooking/cardmaking again. I love designing, playing and teaching. As such it has meant that I have spent a lot of time trying to do what I think people want me to do, and somewhere along the way I lost the Joy. This year, with the help of the amazing Scrapmatts team and products I've found the Joy again.

I had so much fun doing this layout. The photo wasn't my first choice, but I thought it was important to do one of myself

My challenge for you  - find a photo of yourself and create a page or a project using some of your favourite Scrapmatts products, create something that brings you joy, then come back and share it with us.

I have used Scrapmatts chipboard flourishes, sentiments and frame. I have also used a couple of the stencils in the background  - details are below

Pretty in Pink ...

So recently I managed to get my hands on some DIVINE pink papers from Coco Vanilla Studio... having 4 girls in my tribe, I'm always on the look out for pretty pink papers and these were just perfect for this fun layout using circle chippies ...

I started out with a set of these gorgeous string circles ... they are cut from white chipboard to begin with which is FANTASTIC and very handy, so I didn't have to do anything beside stick them down! My favourite kind of embellishment!! lol

I used a large circle template and some light pink Inka Gold wax to create the shimmering circles you can see on the page ( and colour the words on the arrows) and a smaller circle template and a white pen to do the background circles.

 I also used the smaller template to guide me as I added some 

black dot circles to the layout as well.

And these fabulous word expressions I simply stuck on as is - too easy!

And just a quick step card to finish off todays share...

 made with the same Coco Vanilla papers as the previous layout, this very simple card used some feathers and arrow tail string circle chipboards to 

create dimension and detail.
